OK, so i bought some 02wrx rear endlinks, but since I've got droplinks on the 92 legacy, I can't use these yet.. I want to kinda beef up the rear end a bit, and then hunt down some stuff for the front.. but meanwhile, how can i convert from droplinks to endlinks?
anyone have any ideas?

oh, are those better then? i kinda wanted to use the ones i had, considering i DID pay all of $5 for them.
I'm kinda fuzzy on lateral links, maybe i'll be doing a search, or something.
thanks josh.

yep, basically any subaru (except wrx sedan and sti) after 1993 will have the correct lateral links to swap over to... I did this swap along with whiteline endlinks and it is the single biggest and best difference i've made to the cars handling, fresh bushings and the stiff endlinks are grrrrrrreat!

Didn't they change the rear suspension setup for the 00-04 legacys though?

yeah....pretty sure they are different.
so for a conservative list 93-01 imprezas & 02+ wagons can be used along with 93-99 legacies.

If anyone knows why they went to the "c" shaped links, I'd like to hear it. If you look at the bottom of the car, the mounts on the lateral links are the lowest thing in the area which might hook something in a rally situation.
I suppose they just didn't have room to use a conventional dogbone-shaped link, or is it that the sway bars fall directly over top of the lateral link (due to the original centered droplink), forcing the use of something shaped strangely to stay out of the way of the moving lateral link.
I'm just surprised that something that seemed like a retrofit situation would carry on for years through many models, rather than being scrapped for shorter, simpler arrangements.

I think it was partially due to fabrication costs. Instead of having that box type lateral link, they can just use a metal rod, which probably cost less. Plus I think the drop link style was not as rigid.
