thats one thing that sucks about owning an modding an older car. you have to be carefull when buying new wheels as the current wheels may not fit the spirit of the older car.

these appear to fit the spirit IMHO.

i thought the ones that look like the old torque thrust wheels would look really cool too.

Steve, for some reason from reading other posts of yours about your car I somehow imagined your car to look, uh, a little more "worn." But it's a beaut! I don't believe I've ever seen that color on a bf before. Nice and clean look!

My '81 GL dual-range AWD wagon had a similar blue. Your wagaon reminds me of it along with the good memories. But just wondering, ever think of getting your windows tinted? I feel it enhanced the looks of mine and I think it would make your car look even more awesome!

Greg - I think the same thing. I always kind of frown when I see muscle cars with new wheels as it just doesn't look right to me. I think they look like they could have been original, too, which is why I like them. Of course, few cars had 16" wheels back then.

The color's why I bought the car in fwd when I was looking for awd. Tint would look nice, but it doesn't get that sunny up here and it's illegal to tint the front windows so it would look incomplete IMO. It makes it easier to see out of, anyway, I guess.

If your car is registered in MA, state laws allow a 35% net tint all the way around, including front driver's and front passenger's windows, at least according to IWFA's chart. And they keep up with all legislation throughout the country. If you have a medical doctor's exemption, you can even go darker.

It's true that you may not have intense sun year round, but UV rays nevertheless fade upholstery, carpet, door panels, etc. and UV rays can be intense in winter. And UV rays bounce off of water, snow, and hard surfaces. So, with a 35% tint and 99% UV protection in good quality film, you can expect about a 75% reduction in the fading rate of your car's interior.

IMO, looking out of a 35% tint is pretty easy to do. My car right now has 35% in the front (darkest allowed--but I would go darker if it was legal).

Another benefit is if the glass is shattered the film would have a tendency to hold the glass together rather than have a thousand pieces all over the interior of the car.

Sorry, not trying to make a federal case out of this but just wanted to give some good reasons to consider tinting and make your car even more special to you.

RE: Window Tint.

I think that 5% (darkest, full limo tint) looks great on a wagon, even if the driver and passenger windows can only go to 35% or so. It's great for keeping prying eyes off your cargo, too. On a sedan, I like it better when it's the same level of tint all the way around. My Impreza L wagon is dark in the back, while my Legacy SS is 35% all around.

It's worth it, in my opinion.

I didn't know MA allowed front tint. I remember reading years ago that it wasn't. I guess things change. I have no fading problems in my car except for (strangely enough as it's well out of the sun) the glovebox latch. Isn't the good stuff expensive?

Steve, it appears that MA law has allowed the front windows to be tinited since 1985. If the article you read was prepared after that, perhaps the author had wrong information?

"Isn't the good stuff expensive?" Hmmm, simple question but kind of a complex answer. It depends on what an individual considers to be "good." From my perspective, no. A little bit more expensive than the undesirable stuff but not very much.

I just deleted a whole bunch of information because I got thinking that perhaps you and others may not want a novel. So, I'll leave it the way it is for now. However, if you would like details on what might be considered good film, I'd be glad to elaborate. At least some of the board members would find it informative, perhaps even educational.

I don't remember where the hell I read that. Good to know and screw uneasy cops - they always give me a friggin' ticket no matter what anyway.
