I say we coin the new term "Millenium Falcon Sydrome", for any random CEL'S, clunks, vibrations, and any random annoyances that don't completly hinder perfromance but when you hit the gas its light speed all the way. Any takers??
I myself suffer from this syndrome.

Its cool. In fact, I thought of you last night after i finally de-snorked my 92 and somehow in my drive afterward, made the CEL come on.. you brat! I was thinking "Damn! Millennium Falcon Syndrome.." Car runs fine.. but i think somehow the IAC got affected and is/was throwing a code..
dude.

I'd call that "shitbox-itis"... Millenium Falcon syndrome is a little too vague, plus it informs the world of your dorkhood.

I think it needs to be turbo to be considered Millenium Falcon Syndrome as she may be a bucket of bolts, but she's one of the fastest things around. N/A doesn't quite meet that unless you like racing rice Hondas to feel good.

Hey, no need to take cheap-shots.... I'll have you know my honda doesn't have a single sticker or cosmetic modification to speak of
...although it does get a bit more than its fair share of CELs

Then your Honda's not rice. Whenever we get them in the shop they invariably have a myriad of safety and reliabilty related problems, usually major. We got a 1996 Accord in the other day with 66k on it that was beat all to hell so bad it could have been 300k. And it smelled. They always smell. Bad.

yeah, mine smells too. Not so much since I removed the interior though... Used to be a pizza car, you know

I say we coin the new term "Millenium Falcon Sydrome",
Remember when Han says "I've made some modifications myself"?
I think the term fits, but it should be MFS to make us seem
slightly less dorky.

I don't care if I sound like a dork. I'm no Star Wars fanatic and most people aren't, but millions do like it (at least the original movies) even if they're not obsessed.

Forgot Han said that, the term fits perfectly I tells ya! MFS does cut back on typing out the whole thing

for all of the problems my car has that i cant explain (floring it and it stays at 3krpm and still increaces speed) i have never had a cel. not even when it doesnt want to start for no reason at all. ill be cranking it over for 15 mins and finaly it will idle at 20 rpms so i floor it and it starts fine. no cel. do i still qualify for mfs?

I never get them either. I think of it more that it has some weird problems, but still gets there.
Sounds like a temp sensor.

Id say that qualifies as MFS, now if only our cars had a bunch of little lights inside and would everynow and then go out right before we really needed to accelerate but then they would come back on and the car would be instantly at full boost launching it forwards at incredible speeds, or I could just get a big ass turbo that takes a while to spool
yep....Im a geek....heh heh

Well, since I like nerds, I'm voting for it. I'd call it Millenium Falcon Syndrome if my car ever got random CELs. But it doesnt.

Hey laurel! Nice to see you again!
We talked about your sig in another thread somwhere around here... I'll have to AIM you when you're on again.
Yeah, I'm a geek as well, but i'm kinda a closet geek now, as I like to project my 'normality' image.. doesn't scare off alot of people, as the former did.

Okay, I think i jinxed myself, saying that i didnt have mfs. I filled up today, and only got 14.8 mpg. I usually get 19, so this is bad news. Before your "I get 26 mpg"(i did in the non turbo) and whatnot, it's an automatic wagon. Heaviest legacy for sure.
Only thing different is the tires, and i think they're lighter than my old ones. ugh. this is lame

I get about 23/25/21 (city/HWY/fast HWY) with the low compression engine where I got about 25/29/25 with the standard N/A engine.

I usually only get about 16 ('cuz I drive too fast).
I was psyched when I got 19 yesterday (alot of highway and an auto-x).

I get around 23/28 and 21 for irresponsible driving.
