There's 3 bolts around the backside near the top, and if I remember correctly, one down the passenger side that attaches it to the downpipe heatshield.

If you need a picture tomorrow, I can grab one for you.

I remember there being a total of seven small bolts holding it in. It helps to have a ratcheting box wrench. Just feel all over its surface for them.

All the bolts have 10mm heads.

This picture might help:

Weird. My car only had the top chimney piece. And the car came to me completely stock.

The lower part is actually bolted to either the uppipe or downpipe I think.

Are you sure it's not deep down there? If not, someone must have removed your turbo at some point in the past and removed it.

When I pulled my turbo I was really surprised to find a missing bolt on the compressor inlet elbow. I guess someone must have removed my car's turbo before.

Hmm.... There's no way of knowing anymore, as totech has my stock exhaust. :) I do still have the top part installed.

Forgot: This probably doesn't need to be said, but you should probably soak them in penetrating oil for a bit first.

7 total bolts.

Mine fell off when Matt and I were doing my intercooler install. I think there were 2 bolts holding it on, and they were each only half threaded in.

Hehe, ya, that thing was barely on there.

Mine had a wicked rattle for a while before I removed it and it was only from one missing bolt.

Mine's rattling now that I can't use the lowest mounting hole. I don't know what I'm going to do about it.

Take it off.

I had it off, decided to put it back on... If I can't tweak it just right, it'll definitely be coming back off.

My car's got enough noises already that I don't need another one. Plus it ends up being weight savings I guess :)

Figure out a way to shim the space where it rattles... Little chunks of aluminum foil might do it.

If you can keep the chimney, it's a good thing.

Yeah Vikash, I'd like to keep it on. I'm gonna spend some time tomorrow looking at the clearances. I may have to trim some more, or find a way to preload the chimney so it can't flex.
