i was thinking of something when i saw this on ebay.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... 77798&rd=1

since its glass i was wondering if u could just take the glass lens off and take off our plastic ones and just replace it with the glass ones.

Do you think this will work and not blind people on the left side?

No, it wouldn't work, unfortunately. The flutes in the lens are an essential part of the lamp's optics.

are they really? Those little nubs that hang out on the lense actually do something?? wow, i never would have thought...
unfortunately, we're stuck here in the USDM with some so-so headlamps, Flip_x. Clear yours up, or try to souce a (i believe) Euro set, as their glass lamps are a little closer to ours.. V, any info you have on that?

I'm not talking about the nubs... The flutes are all over the lens, that make the lens look different from a flat piece of clear material. Basically, the filament from the lamp reflects onto the parabolic reflector, which kind of points all the light rays forwards. Then the flutes in the lens are responsible for rearranging that into an actual beam pattern.

The nubs are actually to register the lamp with an aiming device, so instead of aiming optically they can be aimed.... umm... according to the position of the lens.

Continental European-spec (not UK-spec) lights work very well on our roads. They're light years ahead of the 90-91 US-spec lights, and potentially somewhat better (but not hugely so) than the 92-94 US-spec lights.

I have a friend in europe. i asked him if he goes to the jy to look for a set of headlights for me and i will pay him for it. i just rather have glass on it. or i can always do a custom install on a diffrent set of headlights.

The JDM ones? They ought to bolt up, but you can't reasonably use them in Northampton, PA. They're for countries where you drive on the left side of the road.

I'm sure that the european glass lights would fit, but aren't they aimed differently, atleast in GB, they would have a slight biased to the wrong side of the road, right into the eyes of oncoming traffic. Glass headlights would be sweet though---and HID :D

On the European continent they drive on the right side of the road. So as long as the European lights aren't from the UK they'll be good.
