A Porsche Carrera GT drove to the new lap record on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife. With an average speed of 164 kilometers per hour Horst von Saurma, chief editor of the german magazine “sport auto”, drove around the 22,6 kilometer long distance in just 7.32,44 minutes. The 612 PS Porsche so reached the record for street-use cars. H&R equips all Porsche Carrera GT and the models GT2 and GT3 ex works.
“It was on razor´s edge. The track was dirty on some parts and this made it quite difficult,” a happy Horst von Saurma said.
He now owns the moving cup of the “sport auto”, as the magazine gives it to the fastest drivers on street use for ten years now. It is no coincidence that this prestige-match takes part on the Nürburgring – it is a track which shows the best and honest states on driving and a perfect car.
Since 1995 the record time changed nearly from year to year from 7.52 minutes to 7.32,44 minutes.
