The 93 is just about ready for the road again.. but the o2 sensor wire is ripped to hell and $90 for an o2 sensor is absurd.

Will the Mil Eliminators for the 96+ work for this? And would i have to hook 'em to the o2 sensor at all, or do they work like a loop back? Or.. does anyone else have an idea so it will stop throwing an check engine light at me?

You can't use a MIL eliminator, since those just create a false rear sensor signal for 2-sensor OBD-II systems.

You don't have to shell out $90... any sensor will do. Get a Walker 250-21000 universal 1-wire sensor from http://www.buyoxygensensors.com/ for $24 (their catalog works on applications, so you can ask it for the sensor for a 1989 Mazda 323 for example). Just hook up the signal wire and safely tie away the heater wires.

$24 isn't much more than a MIL eliminator would have cost anyhow, right?

Uhh, one wire? Get at least 3 or 4 to match the stock unit.

The advantage of the 3-wire over the 1-wire is that it has a heating element, so it warms up faster. The 1-wire just won't until the engine has been running for a few minutes. If you want to cut costs, a 1-wire sensor is a good deal cheaper than a 3-wire sensor.

I believe Morgie has been running a 1-wire in his sport sedan for a while now.

Maybe true that it will work but why? It seems like a step backwards for very little money! If you are that poor I can sell you an oxygen sensor with 15k miles on it Subaru original for cheap. Its from my NA engine Im swapping out.
