anyone have experience with the JIC flta-1s? rates for GC6/8 are 7kg/5kg

are they adequately damped?

it will be for daily driving and regular autoX/rallyx. pricing is right, and i like the features they offer.

My buddy has these on his 93 Impreza, but with 10kg fronts and 7kg rears.

They are STIFF. You couldn't roll his body if you tried. He has stock sway bars, and I have NEVER felt his body roll.

I am, incidentally, looking for these exact coilovers.

They will suck for rallyx, but should be good for everything else.

If you don't want them, hook a brotha up!

well, i'm definitely looking for stiff, but i'd keep the 7k/5k rates. the car will be far more for autoX than rallyX.

any comments on longevity?
can they be rebuilt in the USA?

7kg per mm? that's 15.43lbs/mm or 385.75lbs/in.

Sounds like a good rate for an impreza. If the dampening is there, then it would be a nice setup.

But a good question has been asked, I'll go further with it. What's their rebuild policy? How long does a rebuild take? What's their warranty? Will you be part of their warranty since you aren't purchasing them new from the distributor?

Rebuilds on the FLTA-1's (if they are the same ones I am thinking of) need to be shipped to JIC-USA, and from there shipped to JIC-JAPAN. Probably take a week or two. That's what my friend with the FLTA-1's said, but he has never had them rebuilt.

My question is... Where are you getting them and how much are you getting them for? I have been really looking for a set of those coilovers.

i'm just researching options right now. i plan to drop $1000-1200 into a full damper. i've seen them "on sale" thru vendors on NASIOC for $1050 shipped

Ahh, 1050 is a bit expensive for them. You could be paying as little as 600 for used ones, then just ship them out to be rebuilt.

i highly doubt rebuilding is free, i also doubt it's $400, too.

however, i'd prefer to pay for a NEW product and know that is hasn't been abused.
