Lack of interior...

Ok, I was installing some more audio equipment (XM Radio via XMDirect to my Pioneer headunit), and came to a realization.
We have ZERO room in the car to mount things.
The best I could have done, would have been to make a custom mounting box in the center of the dash above the radio, but that would have taken so long.
There was simply NO place to install anything under the dash. One of the boxes I needed to mount was about the size of a pack of cards, and the other about the size of a disposable camera. Nothin.
I ended up mounting them INSIDE the glove box, since I rarely use it for anything important. I can't actually remember the last time I had the glove box open.
The install went smoothly, and it fired right up as planned, but goddamn.
I had a LOT of room to play in my 95 Legacy L, and in past ripping aparts of the dash, I thought I had more room under here. But it turns out to be the opposite.
Hopefully I won't need to mount anything else under there.
We DO, however, have ample channels for routing wires and cables and such.
I don't understand it. The center bit, where the radio is, has so much room for improvement. An aftermarket headunit yields you a TON of room to store wires and shit like that, or make custom mounting for any number of things, like gauges or something.
We've got jack shit for room behind the glove box and the dash in general.
Oh well.
