Not sure if this is the right place for this but...where in the heck can I buy some Redline 75W90 oil for my diffs? I've been searching for quite some time now and all I find is the place either doesn't have Redline or it has the 75W90NS.

Anyone? Am I looking for the right thing as far as oils go? I thought this would be the way to go?

James, I got my Redline oil from www.autoil.com. They have good prices and fast shipping.

Redline is fine in the diff, but keep it out of the tranny! If you don't believe me, read my stickied thread at the top of this forum :!:

Thanks subyluvr2212 but I went to their site and they only list the 75W90NS, which I thought was for maunal transmissions only. I may be wrong though. Is it okay to put into my diffs? What is the difference between the 75W90 and the 75W90NS?

Huh! I ordered my 75W90 from there, now it's not there!

I went in my garage and made sense of all the gobbildy-gook they have on the label. The 75W90NS does not have friction modifiers, but the 75W90 does. I can't explain that much or tell you why the 75W90 is best for the diff, but that is what I was told.

I would actually suggest www.bobistheoilguy.com. They have a message board. I'd do a search there, as I'm sure this topic has been discussed there before...

Thanks for the replies subyluvr2212. I just emailed the company and hopefully I'll hear something from them in a couple of days. Although the site you listed isn't working right now, I did a search a while back and it said exactly what you told me. That's why I am planning on only putting the 75W90 in the front and rear diffs. I believe in the discussion I read, someone said to use something like Mobile 1 in the trannie. Anyway, the plan is to keep my car running smoothly for as long as possible. I've invested some money into it and I feel it's paid great dividends. I just put a sweet stereo system into it and it doesn't rattle like I though it would. No Dynamat for me...yet. Subaru did a great job of building these cars IMO. Next up is power mods. Lightened crank pulley (no underdriven) and maybe a snorkelsectomy is what I have in mind. Can you recommend any power mods? After that, it will be time for a paint job and body work. Well it could use one now but no cash = no paint job.

Mobil 1 is synthetic, just like Redline, and I am from now on, firmly against any synthetic gear oil in my tranny. I have Castrol dino in my Legacy and am getting ready to put the same in my XT. Dino is simply the best for Subaru MT's...

However, I forgot you have an auto, so don't worry about it

I'll PM you with a good list of power mods...
