intercooler placement and throttle

Test fiiting the 02 wrx intercooler in my 95 Legacy 2.2L. I know about the a/c lines need to be pushed down, and the inlet on the IC has already been shaved down.
But the question I have has to do with BOV and throttle linkage. It looks to close to call. I read up on a person having to remove his cruise control for it to fit.
I have seen the jdm black intercoolers. Much smaller and angled. From the pics I have seen other peoples cars, it fits with ease. But how does a BOV work with that.

Any tips or suggestions would be great. Thanks.

The link doesn't work... The whole URL got lost in the abbreviation.
If you buy or make an adapter that bolts in place of the WRX BOV and has a 3/4" bung on it, you should be able to still use your stock BOV.

95 Legacy 2.2L?
EJ22T Swap? Custom turbo?

The slant IC has a BPV port on the turbo to IC pipe.
Before the IC.
You won't be able to use the stock WRX BPV but you can get an adapter that is used for a universal BOV. That might work.

The A/C line off a N/A legacy doesn't have that kink in it, so I picked up one of those from the junkyard ($7). Installing my intercooler after the holidays and it looks like the worst part will be finding a spot for the coolant tank. I'm keeping my AC and don't really want to move the battery.

okay the link should work now. It looks like my best bet is to try a stock bov (i have a greddy now) or make a bung on the IC bov location and relocate the bov elsewhere.
This is a custom turbo setup.

Like -K- said, there's a 19mm bung for the blowoff valve on that plastic pipe leading to the intercooler's inlet.
In this particular case, that plastic pipe has been cut at the corrugation. If you look at it you can see that. Ordinarily, that pipe would continue for a little bit and have the BOV bung on it. Search for a thread started by QuickDrive about installing that intercooler on his car for more information.

Hiya,
Yeah I did install that IC in my Turbo...
Been in with no problems for almost 6 months now.
I'm considering getting some turbo to IC pipe fabbed up due to the kink in the rad hose I have used that connects the pipe (which I cut) and the turbo itself.
As for the BOV, I was considering the whole wrx BOV setup as well but am not sure on the adapters needed, but from the looks of those pics, that Pipe on the IC will be pretty useless.

It would be ok with the stock turbo because you would need a custom pipe from the turbo to the IC. And that could have a bung for the BPV.

I'm doing the same install on my 22t, i had a spare throttle body, so i grinded the lip just a bit. You nee to relocate the power transformer and remove the cruise control. Also relocate the coolant tank, just flip it sideway.
The tricky part is the turbo to IC hose, I'll use the wrx Y part with some custom flexible high pressure hose($$$)
If you want to save some time, cap off one of the air inlet of the IC and use one flexible hose from the turbo to the inlet, much easier. Good luck

The IC has aslready been trimmed down at the throttle. The cruise control I relocated. Coolant tank, why?
IC hose fits good, just need a 2 inch extension to make it mate up with the turbo.

Well do a search for, F*$% coolant tank, he he he. joke
The nipple on the back will break of it it rubs the IC at all. Even if you look at it wrong it will break.
The problem with the IC piping wouldn't be if you got a turbo at the same time.

WRX IC
I do have a turbo, I test fitted everything too. No problems at all.
I was just curious about the jdm IC, thats all.
