that's one of the reasons I didn't install them. They don't sit properly for our cars

I thought the whole reason we install them is because they're height-adjustable. Is that not correct? I spoke recently with scottzg on the subject, and he was looking into getting a set from a WRX as he's a taller fellow, and needed the height-adjustments..

yeah but it adjusts from 1" higher than your seats are now, to 4" higher than your seats are now...

ohhh...

Hm, looks like I
won't be getting them then. I spoke with scottzg, as well, and he says the LS seats have height adjustment, and they were the ones MEANT for our cars.. looks like I'll be hunting for a set!

yeah, i was thinking about trying to switch out the rails from a non-height adjustable seat, as the WRX rails seem to bolt to the wrx seat the same as the non height adjustable rails bolt to the seats, but the height adjustable legacy seats seem to have a different setup. i had height adjustable seats, but the drivers side one was ripped and i wanted the WRX seats for their "grip". anyone know about GC 2.5RS seats? or 99 legacy GT seats? would they sit like the stock seats?

The difference isnt that bad.
The lowest setting on the wrx seats is near the middle setting on the stock seats.
The l doesn't have height adjustable, but the turbo does. I hated my turbo seats. They were ugly and hard. Wrx seats=pretty and comfy

I have seats from a '98 or '99 Impreza RS in my car and they bolt up fairly well. I actually took one out recently to see if the rails themselves could be swapped to the RS seats and it doesn't look good. The mounting bolts are in the wrong place, and it looks like it won't work. I'm going to take another look at it one of these nights, but I'm doubtful at this point. The seats themselves are MUCH more supportive though.

wrx seat rails cannot be swapped out. One of the rails supports the back rest

Will '02+ WRX seats bolt straight into my '91 Legacy L with little or no mods? I'm looking at putting a set in soon.

Yea, they should bolt right in.
I'm picking up a set of 99 RS seats tonight. I think they will be perfect.
I'm a tall guy, but I have my height-adjustment set in the middle on the stockers, so these should drop in no problem.

my seats are height adjustable but at the lowest setting their way to tall for me, and im short, bout 5' 10". when i drive my moms 97 L and go back to the ss it feels so weird.
im thinkin of hacking on the rails to get them lower. or building some for corbeau a4's

there are tiny amounts of mods that need to be done, but it's really just a bolt.
The passenger seat is not height adjustable on the wrx, so if you have tall passengers, they'll be uncomfortable. I've had 3 people now comment on how high the passenger seat feels when riding with me. Given, they've all sat in stock legacys, but it IS noticable. Not much though.
There's no way i'd go back

Laurel - The bolt is for the seat belt, right?
What size threading is that? I need the bolts to do my swap.
You also lose the lower bolt for the center most, rear ward bit of the bracket, right?

one of the holes in the bracket sticks out, dont use that one, use the other.
If you call a subaru dealership, you can get the bolt that the wrx uses to affix the seatbelts. I had friends at the Olympia Dealership, so I just called them, and they said to come pick up several bolts(free of charge) and see what fit. I ended up getting one with shoulders, but the belt didnt fit over them. Still works, the bolt just sticks out farther than needed. I should eventually drill out the metal on the belt bracket to make it fit

Pics? I haven't studied the seats much yet. I saw a threaded hole, so I guess I shouldn't use that one? Just use a regular nut and bolt?

I would try to use OEM hardware to hold the seats and seat belts in place, if possible. You know it's been heat treated the right way and stuff. Also, I'm told some OEM structural threaded fasteners have a higher percent thread than usual.
