How to remove a sticker?

My car had some sticker put on it back when the old owners first bought it and it looks like they tried to tear it off and it left the sticky stuff on and has now accumulated dirt in the last few years. I tried using a razor blade but didn't want to scratch the paint so that didn't work. Does anyone know of any sticker remover like "Goof Off" that is safe for car paint? Thanks

A combination of WD40 and Carb cleaner with lots of rubbing. After your done wax it up real nice.

Thats what I did. My LSI has some stupid feminist crap sticker covering the "Subaru" sign on the back

a compound called "goo gone" NOT goof off, that will kill your paint, but GooGone, will remove sticker build up, or a product called De-solve it will take sticker poo off as well. Just make sure to wash the area well after to remove any product residue, dont know how well that will treat your paint. :)

goo gone works fine, won't damage paint. Just make sure to wash the area and wax it afterwards, because it will remove the wax as well.

Here's what I do ( old wives tale  ) Use olive oil to take the sticky stuff off, works real good. Then a little nail polish or rubbing alchohol to clean the oil off. I didn't have any problem with the alchohol but if that makes you nervous anything that will clean the oil will work.

It may help to heat it up with a hair dryer or heat gun first, since it'll just generally soften up the glue.

A flexible dough scraper or putty knife can also be useful.

Someone once told me mayonaise works just fine.

shameless plug for my company:

All joking aside, this 3m stuff is nice because it'll take off the goop/tar/sticker crap without leaving an oily residue like wd40 does.

You people don't know. I made the mistake of parking under a pine tree, which are plentiful here in FL. What did I do? I whipped out the isopropyl rubbing alcohol. Yes, that stuff works fantastic. If it can get TREE SAP off of your car, I would think a sticker would be cake.

I just pulled off my old college parking permit today. It was on my back window, I just used a kitchen knife to scrape it off, and then good ole Goo-Gone to get the residue off. I can't even tell it was there now :D
