That spinning thing that makes all of the cool noises. OE and Aftermarket.

I am seriously considering upgrading to the TD05. Since its a fairly large investment, I want to be sure I have all the answers. After reading some previous posts, I understand that the TD05 dosen't start to spool up untill around 3,000rpm. The stock turbo starts around 2,300. Since I have a 4EAT, what will happen when the engine rpm is in the 2,300-3,000 rpm range. Will there be a deadzone?

Turbo lag. It will feel like your car does before 2300RPM.

I'll take you for a ride in my car sometime, and you can see what it feels like.

The only time I notice the lag, is when I am a gear to high. If I am rolling at 65mph in 3rd gear, just a tap of the throttle, and you are tossed back in the seat.

If you can wait a while, I can sell you my TD05. I want to see what other options are out there for a turbo.

Oh, and the TD05 doesn't START to spool at 3000. At WOT, I start to spool around 2500 to 2700RPM.

Yeah full boost by 3200-3350
1990 GT wagon JDM, TD05H, FMIC, Bosch coils 4in twin split dump 3 in rest of system, lowered, manual conversion, 17's, 17psi boost :) , tints, intake res gone and loving it!!!

BAC5.2 What kind of turbo are you looking at?

I'm thinking of going with a td05h-18g from deadblot.

Don't know. I don't think I'd want an 18g. I want something versatile.

I don't have any definate plans yet, so I don't want to let the cat out of the bag.
