If you are mechanically handy, pull the engine, have the heads rebuilt, new rings, new clutch and you have a "new" car for less than $600. Spend a little more and you have a real nice ride.

Run it into the ground, then rebuild it better and faster.

^ ignore him.
Do as douglas says and rebuild the engine. They're pretty easy to work on if you can grasp how engines operate. Doing all that will pretty much give you a reliable ride to have. Make sure to keep up on oil changes, brakes, and lubes, etc, and be nice to your clutch, and you may very well have yourself another 267k km on it.
These cars were built for the long road ahead. Originally.
...but it's your money, and your car. You don't have to listen to me, either.

DON'T run it into the ground. You fuck up that block and you lose out on the one thing worth money on you car. And also, some of the forum members here may come to your house and give you a wet willie.

LoL. yea it wouldnt be good to wreck that block. it'd cost a pretty penny to fix THAT. new short blocks ive seen sell for wat... 1500 to 2000? compare that to around 600 for dat rebuild..........
