has anyone gutted their cat

has it improved things? I would emagine it would act like a catless downpipe, but I'd like to hear from someone who has done it before I destroy my Cat.

With the cheapness of downpipes on e-bay, you can just get one pre-catless.

true, but it's alot cheaper to take the one you have on the car, gut it and slap it back on...I'm cheap....

Ahh, well, you COULD do this I suppose. As long as you don't have to get emissions tested.
I dunno, the stock bit doesn't flow very well to begin with.

How would you do it? The bends on it will make it almost impossible to get to it all.

Agreed. Definitely the fastest way to do it.
Someone I know tried to gut his uppipe, and only managed to turn the catalyst into a big blob that was unbreakable.

Cut, replace cat area with standard peice of pipe, weld.
That's even easier.
