Yesterday my friend picked me up and we went to Wendys. We ordered then she spilt her fries all over the ground(stupid bitch). We eat food, and decide to go to the StarBucks across the street. We get out of the car and walk twoard the door and see this old skraggely dude comming twoard us mumbeling shit. Obvious a hobo. So, he starts talking to me about some random shit and I ignore him and don't shake his out streached hand. He then proceeds to call me a "rat" and asks me if I were Morman. I continued into the store then went to the counter and ordered. The hobo walked around a bit mubling and talking to these three guys sitting in the back who obvious were also ignoring him. So, we get our shit and sit down and talk a bit, but keep getting interrupted by him talking and shit. So the manager comes out and askes him to leave but he doesn't and proceeds to call her a "rat" also. She tells him that he is drunk and she will call the cops. Then he starts raising his voice and looks like shit is going to get outa controll. I was like fuckkk, I'm guna have to do something about this. Luckaly, one of the three guys stands up and gets right in the dudes face, busts out a badge and then proceeds to tell him that he is fed up with the guy and tells him to leave or else he is going to jail. The hobo said yes sir and walked out.

Moral of the story. Hobo's like starbucks.

No way Steve, are you actually talking about the card based game "Global Thermal Nuclear War"? That game kicks ass and i can never find it anywhere! No one I know has ever heard of it.

I dig chess, I grew up playing with my Dad. I'm not very good but if the time can be found, a nice friendly chess match can be nice. :)

No, he's talking about the movie "War Games" with Mattew Broderick.

"Greetings, Professor Faulken. ShAll wE PlAy A gaMe?"
"Hello Joshua, I need you to stop the launch sequence."

Entertain you, eh? I was around last night after work. You should have given me a call. We could have done some gaming. I don't care about sleeping anymore. If I have to get up at five oh well, I'll just have to suffer on 4 hours of sleep.

Let's see if anyone remembers this or even knows it. (Hint: You'll almost certainly need to be at least thirty to know but not necesarily. It's an old text game, hehe.)

West of House
You are standing in an open field west of a white house, with a boarded front door.
There is a small mailbox here

>go west

Forest
This is a forest, with trees in all directions. To the east, there appears to
be sunlight.
You hear in the distance the chirping of a song bird.

>go west
You would need a machete to go further west.

>go south

Forest
This is a dimly lit forest, with large trees all around.
You hear in the distance the chirping of a song bird.

>go south
Storm-tossed trees block your way.

>go east
The rank undergrowth prevents eastward movement.

>go west
Forest

>look

Forest
This is a forest, with trees in all directions. To the east, there appears to
be sunlight.

>go north

Clearing
You are in a clearing, with a forest surrounding you on all sides. A path leads south.
On the ground is a pile of leaves.

>examine leaves
There's nothing special about the pile of leaves.

>search leaves
You find nothing unusual.
You hear in the distance the chirping of a song bird.

Forest Path
This is a path winding through a dimly lit forest. The path heads north-south here. One particularly large tree with some low branches stands at the edge of the path.

>climb tree

Up a Tree
You are about 10 feet above the ground nestled among some large branches. The nearest branch above you is above your reach.
Beside you on the branch is a small bird's nest. In the bird's nest is a large egg encrusted with precious jewels, apparently
scavenged by a childless songbird. The egg is covered with fine gold inlay, and ornamented in lapis lazuli and mother-of-pearl. Unlike most eggs, this one is hinged and closed with a delicate looking clasp. The egg appears extremely fragile.

>take egg
Taken.

>examine egg
The jewel-encrusted egg is closed.

>open egg
You have neither the tools nor the expertise.
You hear in the distance the chirping of a song bird.

>kill self
What do you want to kill the self with?

>kill
Suicide is not the answer.

hehe, this game was huge when I was like 8 or 9 years old. I would be amazed if anyone could name it, any takers?

Oh the memories of second grade, playing Oregon Trail on the Apple II, going crazy with the rifle and bustin caps in the poor innocent buffalo and deer.

And the kitty goes to isotopeman for correctly guessing Zork. :)

Wow, someone actually knew it was Zork, I'm impressed. I'm guessing you've played Zork. Have you played any of the others? I used to have Enchanter, Sorcerer, Planetfall and The Witness. That game came with a set of 'clues'. I let this girl I liked borrow them in school and she never returned them, oh well, and I didn't even get a kiss for it.

I remember playing Zork on Apple IIe's in school - a long time ago.
I haven't played any of the others, or even Zork since then. It keeps popping into mind though every time there's a reference to someone talking to themselves. I think that if you mistyped a command sometimes, you would be prompted that talking to yourself is a sign of insanity.
A kitty. Cool, but I'm allergic to them. :-(
