How do you adjust the hill holder?

I have just adjusted the pedal freeplay on the clutch a little as it was getting near the top of the pedal.

The hill holder now releases well before the clutch bites making it almost useless.

I have searched but to no avail, and the Haynes manual says take it to Subaru .

Is there any info out there on making this adjustment?

Thanks,
Dave

There is a cable running from the clutch linkage to a Al cube in the left side of the engine compartment. IIRC the cable is attached to this cube, which is the valve for the hill holder, with a threaded boss(bicycle style). By threading this in or out you adjust the tension on the cable, and the point where the brakes let off. I had the opposite problem after changing my clutch cable, the hill holder would hold on until I was rolling for a few feet.

Yeah, it's under the clutch cable. You can follow the other cable off the clutch fork to under the brake MC and you'll see. It's pretty easy. Stupid Hanes manuals.

Thanks so much guys!

I will go out and fiddle with it. Haynes manuals do suck, I need to quit being cheap pick up a shop manual for the car...
