So let me get this straight. They list the SVX engine as an interference engine, which it's not. Yet they don't list any of the DOHC 4 cyl engines. I wouldn't pay attention to this site.

And doesn't the SVX use a timing chain instead of a belt? Or is that the 3.0 6-cylinder outbacks...?

Only the 3.0, though the 3.3 does have a very unique timing setup.

The SVX is an interference engine.
All DOHC Subaru engines are interference.
It's just that the EG33 is the only Subaru engine to have one cam gear-driven by the belt-driven cam. So the only way for the valves to collide would be for the teeth to shear off the gears.

Well the SOHC engines are intereference then too. If a valve gets rusted open then another valve would collide with it.
