You've got a 91SS! That's a very rare car, and I belive you have the LSD, too, correct?

Nice ride and welcome.

Just some mod ideas here, not saying that all have to be done or anything but just generalizing.

1st get a TBE (turbo back exhaust), then put in a boost gauge, a MBC and a TMIC( like a Saab 900). You can then safely run around 12 psi of boost which will put you at around 200-210 chp. You can then do a FCD (fuel cut defender) if you want to up the boost to around 14-15 psi. Anything beyond that will be getting into engine management and fuel delivery mods being needed to safely run higher boost, bigger turbos ect.

That is engine mods but there is much more you can do too.

You could swap in the front brakes off a WRX for better braking but you can't run the stock 15" wheels with them. You'll need at least 16" wheels.

Suspension mods are a great way to enhance the car too. Get some KYB GR2's and some springs, STI group N top mounts, and maybe a larger rear sway bar. Front and rear tower braces would be sweet too.

Getting STI group N tranny and engine mounts is a good idea too.

Ther are all sorts of options out there and endless parts that will enhance the cars performance. The question is how much do you want to spend and how far do you want to take it? :)

i doubt he would go that far to buy it. but i guess anything can happen. I remember when i first got my SS, same day i saw 4 SS (no kidding) on the road. Toronto is like SS central. My friends apartment complex has 2 red 91's parked there. I myself have a 93 SS and a 92 LE touring wagon(Turbo).

lol..i bought it from a subaru dealership..lucky find huh?? yea this was how i bought it..with the bra and the stickers and everything..lol..i just got it about a month ago and this thing flies!!..and as for the brake mod legacy92ej22t suggested..i have STi version 5 rims coming soon..its 16" so it should clear the way...and i was just wondering if u guys could help me out on lowering springs...do u have any suggestion on a good pair?? and yea i'm thinking of doing the up-pipe, down pipe adn the catback for some extra boost..don't really wanna touch the engine and the boost pressure right now..i just wanna see how the exhaust system feels when i put it on..and what's an LSD?? thanks for all the help guys and please keep the suggestions coming..

and the only current mod i have right now is a ractive air filter cuz i had to replace the old one..lol..i just bought the car so i havent done much stuff under the hood..and how rare are the SS's?? yea so by the end of summer my legacy should be all fixed up and stuff..gonna paint her rally blue too..thanks again

I also recommend the WRX front brakes. Any bigger brakes and you'll need tires you can't likely fit under the car to prevent lock up.

I'd recommend whiteline springs, just because they rock. They'll only drop you about 1.5" all around though... If you're looking for something more drastic, I'd suggest wrx or rs suspension.

Exhaust should help a bit, but in order to really pull alot of power, you're going to need to up the boost, don't do that without installing some kind of intercooler.

LSD=limited slip differential. In most basic terms, if you have one wheels that is spinning freely(burnout, ice, wet leaves, whatever), with a regular diff, you will just have that wheel spinning and not go anywhere. The limited slip only allows it to slip a limited amount(concept!)So it'd allow your slippy wheel to rotate 1.6 times or whatever, before "locking" your other wheel and making it spin too. Excellent for low traction situations such as rallycross, ice/snow, toasting some kid in his dad's bmw

car looks good, i'm excited to see more photos, and welcome, it's a good community

Awesome looking car. As for any exhaust upgrades, I think most people would agree that a new up-pipe isn't nessacary. Unlike the WRX, our up-pipes are catless. A good downpipe, custom midpipe and muffler will go a long way.

I'd have to agree, without the cat any gains you might get would be minimal
