City Light light bulb?

Anyone know what light bulb is supposed to go in the city lights for the EDM & JDM lights?
I'm trying to match new bulbs to the ones that are in there, but there's two different bulbs, and the one type of bulb there is like three different kinds that look like they'll fit 90, 67, 97 however I have no idea if there's any difference, or if one's brighter...etc.
Anybody got the 411?

I'm pretty sure the 90 is a dual-filament bulb, so that's out.
The 67 and 97 have the same base but different filament geometries, so they can't both be right.
But I don't think these bulbs are part of ECE regulations anyway... I think it's more likely that these lamps take R5W bulbs or something similar.
I don't know for sure though. Maybe one of our European members can tell us what their owner's manuals say.

Oh, could you read off all the markings on the headlamp lens and/or housing? Maybe there's useful information in them.

I don't think there's anything on the housing, but I could take a look.

I checked the casing. It says 12v 10watts. However I'm still not sure which one of those bulbs to use.

Hmm... The only 10-watt ECE bulb I can think of off the top of my head is the R10W. It's a 12-volt 10-watt bulb with the same B15s base as 67 and 97 bulbs. It's sold as a 5008 bulb in the US. Maybe check out an R10W at an auto parts store and see if it matches either of the bulbs you have there now?

Ok, I'll check it out.
thanks!

Found the 5008 sylvania bulbs at autozone. One of the old bulbs was a R10W bulb, the other was a R5W bulb.....

Hmm. I believe R5W and R10W bulbs are the same aside from intensity/wattage... I wonder which is the right one. 10 watts seems high for a city light, so maybe R5W is the right one. Either one should do though.

R5W sounds right for a city light...

dangit....so either one could be right? I didn't really see any major difference in light output between the two....
Is the R5W a 10wat bulb? Like I mentioned the marking on the light housing says it should use a 12v 10w bulb. I'm assuming the R5W is only a 5watt bulb....correct?

Right, the R5W is a 5-watt bulb and has a lower output than the 10-watt R10W.
It's possible that it's meant to take an R5W but a previous owner of the lights put in an R10W. I can't off the top of my head think of any problems the increased intensity or current draw would cause.

well....the headlight casing calls for a 12v 10w bulb....so that's what I'm going to use

Oh, okay. I didn't catch that you read that off the housing. Yeah, I'd agree that it's most likely R10W/5008 then. A previous owner must have put an R5W in because of reasoning like mine and 123c's.

R10W bulbs have the same base and bulb geometry as the 67 bulb used in pre-facelift North American front parking lights; there's a good chance the sockets are the same. Even if they're not, you might be able to trim the locking tabs to make them fit.
