How to turn off/disable SRS (airbag) idiot light?

Hello All...
A couple weeks ago I became the proud new owner of a 97 legacy 2.5GT...in white. Happens to be the same car, same colour, as the one I owned a couple years ago. I bought it from Adam at z1 performance...so I think it used to belong to someone on this board, who traded for adams legacy turbo. Anyways, its sweet, all done up and such. But I have to get it inspected. And the steering wheel was replaced with a Wrx V5 momo wheel. Anyways, the stock airbag doesn't fit in this wheel, so one needs the JDM bag. That fits, but doesn't connect to the SRS system. Even if you switch the plugs so it can connect, it still doesn't work, different resistances or something. Anyways, I need to turn off the srs idiot light so I can get it inspected. I'm also wondering if the passenger side will work with the drivers out. I was thinking I could just pull the fuse, but I don't know if that would stop the light. So maybe I could pull the bulb, although its a pain. Eventually, maybe I could put a resistor in so it would think the drivers side was ok. This would especially be good if the passenger airbag won't work without the drivers side...
Thanks
Micum

you should be able to unplug a connector on the back of the cluster just for the airbag light. at least thats how it is in my 93. and to the best of my knowledge when your airbag light is on both airbags dont work.
