Can you put on aftermarket fog lights and have them turn off/on with the parking light switch on the column? I searched but didnt fins anything on this.

Yes. I ran mine that way. Instead of tapping into the headlights, I used the parking lights.

Steve,
You did use a relay didn't you, and just used the parking light wiring to trigger the relay?

Of course. Sorry I wasn't clear. Yeah, if you don't use a relay you will melt switches.

Damn, I melted four on my '83 (Hella 550 kit came with a bad relay and I was too lazy to deal with wiring it - don't ask). One was even rated at 20 amps. When they failed, they melted in the closed position (of course as they'd only get hot while on). Luckily I never killed the battery or started a fire.

I wired up my hellas to the parking lights, so they'd come on always, as the lighting was so shitty on my 91. Worked fine fer me, I ne'er had a problem with it. It's pretty convenient.
doooit.

some states would be proud to present you with a ticket for running fog lights when it isn't foggy or raining...not likely I know but if you get pulled over for speeding you might get one of those cops who likes to pile on

There are also non-law-related reasons not to use your fog lights when they're not called for. It's damaging to your ability to see as well as glaring to oncoming traffic.
