When you go FMIC do you remove the air filter? or where do you install it?

Don't remove the air filter. You need to filter the air going into the engine.

Changes in intercooling shouldn't really have anything to do with the air filter, since the intercooler just goes between the compressor and the throttle. If you need to relocate the air filter to clear intercooler piping, you can, but it's probably better not to.

So if I do the mug mod, I wouldn't be wasting time by removing it eventually anyways.

I don't understand. What does the mug have to do with an intercooler?

I dont remember for certain but i do think you have to do the coffee cup mod to get intercooler piping to fit on the passenger side.

Oh, well, yeah, depending on how your piping goes it probably would be helpful to have the mug since it takes up less room than the resonator.

But I don't see why you'd have to remove the mug when you install an intercooler. Or is that what you were asking, TurboSubie?

I think turbosubie should look at some pics of FMIC's that are fully plumbed up and some pics of our engine bays to compare, then he can see what has to be done.
