So i'm getting ready to crack the case of the tranny in the next few days, what should i know?

Remember how to put it back together? That'd be a good start. Seriously, It's pretty straightforward. I don't know what the trick is to removing the center diff, but I had to play with mine for a couple days before I finally got it. It was cold, and I gave up easily. I'm not sure if I could even get it back on again if I had to. That'll probably be the biggest thing, IMO. Hopefully someone else can help you better than I.

I was looking at a writeup someone did on rebuilding the transmission and their center diff bolted right up pretty easily on their wrx tranny.
