I would die if I got 12 hours of sleep. I do miss it though.

3 or 4 sometimes, maybe 6.
I need to take a weekend off, and sleep for a solid 12 hours though.

I personally try not to sleep during the day.
Now at night, well, I tend to get around 5-6. By the time I get the rest of the family to sleep and spend an hour or two gabbin' with all of you, maybe a game or two in, it tends to get pretty late. Then it's up at 6am to get my daughter off to school.

I usually get between 5 and 8 hours of sleep depending on when I finally get to sleep. Usually around noon or so, and I gotta get up by 9pm.
Working third shift causes me to sleep during the day, and because of that, I get the light coming in through the closed blinds on my window. That really doesn't help

when I'm doing a night shift at work: 2-3 in half hour naps.
at home: 4-6 depending on what I have to do
home home when there's nothing required of me and no sunlight: 23.5
home home with so much summer light: bars close at 2.. sun rises at 4..

I used to get 0-5 (only 5 on the reraely lucky occasion - the work loasd was huge and my ex was a goddess, so sleep took a seat in the trunk) when I was going to school. Now I get from 4-6, but sometimes I just crash when the lack of has caught up to me.

I sufer from Severe migranes with seizures. I have so many "triggers" that it's not funny. You name it and it gives me migranse. I am on Dilantin for the seizures. If I sleep to long I have one...sleep not enought I have one...smell bleach, perfumes, anything over powering.....drink too much soda...
It sucks. The first doctor I went to missdiagnosed me and it got worse but my new doctor is trying to get a grip on it. I am alergic to non-steroidial anti-inflamitories so the list of things I can have are slim. I have Vicodin for the pain. No I'm not an addict. (K's choice song starts to play)
I had apost last year on USMB about MRI's...they found nothing.

I get migraines when I go without sex too long. I used to get them all the time as a kid and once I went blind from it and couldn't move. A friend of mine used to get that kind all the time and he would suffer bizarre hallucinations/dreams. Only thing I've ver found that worked for me is Excedrin Migraine, but sometimes green tea can reduce it to a more manageable level. Funny thing is, they both have caffeine, but other than a cup or two of tea a day, I have no caffeine so I'm not an addict (caffeine withdrawals for addicts can cause them).
The doctors can't figure out my weird pseudo-vertigo/collapsing spells either.
Good luck with the doctor.

When I was a kid I was on meds for Classical Migraines. I was only on the meds for about 2 years. Then they became rare enough that I didn't need the meds anymore.
I severly sprained my neck about 2.5 years ago though and since then they've been coming back a lot more often. There for a while it was maybe only one or two a year but now it might be one or two a month. :l
Nothing as serious as siezures or anything though. That's intense.

I get the blackouts, the blindness, the vomiting.... loss of motion in all limbs. Loss of speech. What really sucks is that it is having long term affects. I can't spell alot of comon words now. I forget everything...I space out all the time.
I'm thinking lawsuit for malpractice.

Wow. (I didn't know anyone else knew the K's Choice song, way cool!)
What you need is a neurologist. If you've got that many 'triggers', it sounds like there's something going on up there, electrically, that needs some kind of regulating? Have you had an EEG, or an ECoG? Anything of the sort?
