Well with all the work i did this weekend I wanted to rotate and clean my wheels, so I put the spare wrx wheels on......they're ok.....but I definitely like mine better.

Woah! What's up with the hood scoop?

When'd you do that?

been like that for a couple months now. I had some body work done to fix some damage, and ended up replacing the hood with a turbo model.

Dood. . . those WRX wheels look pretty clean on there. I'd roll it.

Damn it, Josh, will you stop showing us pics of your car?? You make us all so jealous when you do that!!!
I agree with you. Definitely your wheels. I would only put WRX rims on a 92-94 Legacy, I don't think they look as good on a 90-91.

Just to be 100% you wheels are the ones in the second pic right? Those look hella nice

Yeah my wheels are the ones in the second pic. I should've gotten a better pic.....that one is kind of dark.
My wheels are Racing Gear type M7 wheels, 16x7 +45mm offset. You will most likely not be able to find them. I got mine in 97. Since then I have never in person seen another car with these same wheels, and have only seen the wheels being sold (i.e. on display) at a speed shop in seattle. There's a guy with a prelude that has the same wheels. I found his site on the net.
The TSW hokenhiems (sp) are similar to these wheels, but they lack the open center cap & polished lip.
Thanks for the compliments guys.

I prefer the WRX wheels. The others are too busy and the angles are too sharp.

that's why they make so many different wheels......different strokes for different folks

If nothing else, the width of the Racing Gear wheels makes the car sit right. It looks FAR more sporty with those fat tires than the WRX wheels, IMO. That's what I miss about my Rotas, they made the car look better by being so wide...

Hi Josh,
I prefer your wheels to the WRX ones - can I ask...do you get ribbed for having a turbo bonnet but only a 2.0 underneath?
I used to have an Impreza Sport (non-turbo) and some of the Turbo owners used to slag us off for putting a turbo bonnet on a non-turbo
I think it looks

You guys do have turbos though, right?

It's a 2.2
nah.....most people like it. There aren't too many subaru peeps in houston other then the wrx crowd, but my friends who have seen it like it.
I've got way more money and time into my suspension/brakes then engine. Anyone can go fast in a straight line.....going fast in the turns takes more work

I will say with the last setup of upgrades to the suspension and brakes......the car is very impressive!!! Will definitely out corner and brake a stock wrx.

Josh, I bet you would do some considerable damage in the autocrosses. With your cornering and your lighter fwd car, I bet you could do amazing. It would really make our legacies look good, too. I bet bet if you can outcorner the wrx's with stock suspenion, you could do a lot better times than them, also. hehe, too bad there isn't many autocrosses out were your at....or is there??

aesthetically, i think the wrx rims are much cleaner, but i would wear the other ones, a little more width is far more fun than some silly appearances.
I've got some wrx rims, and i would be happier with the looks if i could put my old hubcaps on them.
And so i vote for a toss up- which is more important to you? I would burn through the rubber on one set soo fast, then change...

georryan,
They actually have a monthly autocross in houston, and if I wanted to do more there is some in austin and other surrounding areas. However I just haven't convinced myself that driving for less then 2 minutes and standing around all day is worth it. I grew up in areas where there was kick ass roads......so any "performance minded" driving I wanted to do, I'd just go find some back roads.
Another reason is my tranny isn't in the best of shape. If I get another vehicle, so I have two, or get my tranny fixed, I'll probably give the autox a shot.
scott,
performance is more important.....but I like my normal wheels better

fit much better with the lines on my car. On a 92-94 I don't think my wheels would look as good......all depends on the car and the taste of the driver

yeah, I can see what you mean. I didn't want to autocross my car when My clutch pedal was slipping a bit because of a bad clutch slave cylinder. I had it there, and rode in a friends impreza. I felt sorry for him because he put a huge spoiler on his trunk, but has done nothering, absolutely nothing to the engine. No plugs, no snorkus removal, nothing. He did decent. But his car has looks without flair. hehe
You guys do have turbos though, right?
Yes we have the turbo, it is tuned down to 160 hp, and doesn't come with an intercooler for some messed up reason that we haven't figured out yet, but we do have the turbo. So umping the power isn't hard, just takes some gumption and initiative.

My beater rolls on WRX wheels, I think they look a hell of alot better than the 14in. steels that I got it with.
My turbo currently sits on space saver spares.
