Here's a few pics of my on going project if anyone is interested. I'll update every once and a while.

Found some damage on the replacement motor.

The timing was off by 45 degrees too!

After a lot of cleaning, new cam sprocket, front and rear timing belt covers and timing belt.

Those are GC8 springs with Legacy perches! The BJ Legacy was on those. Very dangerous.

*update*

Well, here's a few more pics.

The AC pulley tensioner was toast on the BJ engine so I swapped my good one over.

http://www.thawa.net/gallery/albums/The ... .sized.jpg

Swapped over my cam and crank angle sensors as well as my knock sensor. The BJ sensors were hacked to hell. F*@kin' Adam.

http://www.thawa.net/gallery/albums/The ... .sized.jpg

The knock sensor was a total bitch because Adam had the sensor installed on the bellhousing part of the block, over the flywheel , and not in the proper location. Because of this, the knock sensor mounting point was totally foul. As a lot of you know it is very hard to access that spot so I did my best to clean it up and sand the area but I could only get it so clean. Hopefully it will work out ok and not haunt me.

I also had to swap over my IAC because the BJ's connector locking tab was broke.

The new one.

http://www.thawa.net/gallery/albums/The ... .sized.jpg

I also pulled the starter and the clutch fork rod.

http://www.thawa.net/gallery/albums/The ... .sized.jpg

http://www.thawa.net/gallery/albums/The ... .sized.jpg

I also cracked the the bolts that hold the tranny and engine loose as well as cracked the motor mounts loose.

So really I'm about done with everything I can do without actually swapping the engines around. :D

Swap party at my place! Who's coming?

OK, nobody showed up for the party except my buddy Nick, thanks Nick.

Here's a couple more pics. I got the engines swapped over but found out that my clutch is toast. I don't have the money to change it now so it looks like I'll be babying it big time for a few months. :(

I also went to install the Walbro 255 FP that came off the BJ Legacy but holy crap, the thing is totally fried!

That's it for now, I'll post more as I go.

Cool!

Hehe, that picture you took with the camera sideways is weird. I was like, "How did he stick the motor to the wall? Oh..."

SUH-WEET!
It's always fun to do all that work just to get your favorite ride back on the streets. Looks like it'll be pretty cool when it's done, too.
Keep it up, meng!

Those strut/springs are only the tip of the iceburg too. You wouldn't believe all the wacky and dangerous crap we found with the way he had that car set up.

Tristan- Thanks dude. :)

AWD- I can't wait to try it out. It feels really good when I'm sitting there pretending to drive like a young lad in his daddy's car. Best part is I always win the race too! lol

Ugh, way to many!

I mean yours and Josh's kind of projects are one thing, but we have way to many blown up subies right now. :(

doormat- It's the CES DP03 twin dump. It's part of a 3" TBE.

If you coincide it with the Speed & Feed, I'll be there.

When were you thinking? I'll try to come.

I'd like to do it the weekend after this coming one. I have Sunday off this weekend but it's Easter, so that's no good.

I think with a few hands there is a possibility that Subarina could be resurrected in a day, two at most if there's unforeseen problems.

The struts/springs can wait. I still need to try and get the GC perches anyways for that.

If you come Vikash, I'll have my chef hat waiting for that cooking lesson. :D

That flywheel didnt look too secure in the picture, im sure you bolted it down before putting the engine in right? right?
