I'm so fucking sick of people asking me this. It seems that every where i go people dont believe that a young kid would actually go to a dealership and pick out the only wagon there. But i did. I love wagons and i have all of my life. THey seem to handle so much better!!!

Werd. Subarus, other than WRX STis and 'The Shit' are rarely on people's gotta-have-it lists, let alone wagons.. we're a rare breed, my brothers and sisters.

Never. I was asked a few times if my car was a real race car when I had my '84 wagon.

Never, my first car was way to beat up and old to be one of my parent's old car and I didnt' get my legacy until about 2 years ago.

Starting off driving with my parents white 91 legacy, and then buying my white turbo leaves some of my old friends and co-workers thinking i'm doing up my parents car. I'd figure the fact that one is automatic and one is standard would give some a clue... guess not.
guess they aren't car folk

Why are you sick of it? Is it an unreasonable assumption?

In my opinion ignorance is unreasonable yes. I am sick of people thinking that just because it is a wagon that it "Must have been" my parents car. My parents are also to high class for a subaru.
It irritates me more, that people put my car in the same class as the Ford Taurus and other such "Grocery Getters"
I picked my car out of a lot with over 500 cars, and i did it because i drive 500+ miles a week, in Montana. I need something that can get me through the snow with great mileage, with room to hold my skis and all of my ski gear.
Most people do get their first cars from their parents and i'm willing to bet lots of these riced out hondas rolling around were also their parents cars. I bet they never get asked. I suppose that this is probably only a problem for the younger crowd. (I got my suby as a freshman in high school and payed for every dime of it)

Bah, I have honestly never heard this "My parents are too high class for a Subaru" shit. My Mother drove my car for 11 years, now she drives a Mercedes C240 4Matic wagon, but not once was the Subaru ever deemed a low class vehicle. It offers a practical alternative to an SUV like a Ford Explorer (which we were considering at the time) providing way better gas milage and a much safer vehicle overall.
I don't know what people consider high class, but cars are cars, if people look down on you for driving a Subaru then they're messed up. If it gets you from A to B and you might have some fun while doing it then there is nothing wrong.

Friends of ours sold Mercedes, Saab, and Subaru. The owner always drove Subarus daily (he had a '57 300SL cab and a '60's 280SL in the garage). He still has a silver touring wagon.

It seems strange to me that you didnt care what people thought when you bought the car, choosing the one you want, but now you care what people think after the fact. You have what you wanted, if it matters so much what other people think, get a 240sx or whatever.

First of all my parents own an oil field, so for them, yes its not high class. Maybe the newer LL bean, but our cars are not luxury cars, there practical and affordable.
Scott. Never once did i say i cared about what people think. I love the look on all of these hondas faces when i beat them off the line. I said, i was sick of people asking if it was my parents.
So next time please read what i wrote before you make a wise ass coment that has no practical value.

Hey, we'll have none of that. I thrive on wise ass comments with no practical value.
Take a chill pill. Suppository.

Wow, hostile.
I wasn't making a wise ass comment. I don't understand why it matters if people ask if it was your parents car, so i figured that it's bad image to be driving the ex-grocery mobile.

i didnt mean to sound hostile, I just dont understand why people single me out to give me shit about my car. Who gives a fuck if its a wagon? I gurentee it will whip any hondas ass on a snowy day

Plus its gets Twice as good as My dads F150. I dont understand why everyone doesnt drive one.
I didnt mean to sound mean scott i have a bad sunburn so its making me a bit cranky.
Peace and good will to all!!!

I hate that wagons are becoming popular again because I hate it when too many people like the same things as I do. I've always liked wagons, just not those huge horrible monstrosities the Americans made in the 70's and 80's.

Is all good dawg. The internet isn't the best medium to convey expression.
I like the fact that wagons are resurging in popularity. The more vehicles i like on the market the better!
