does anyone have a pic of the alternator cover that's supposed to be on a 91 legacy turbo sedan? Does it look anything like the plastic cover that says turbo on it?

Are you talking about the metal piece that covers the top of the belt?

I only know of three covers on the front/top of a Legacy engine:
1) the "Beauty cover" (plastic) that goes over the Throttle body/ciol pack
2) the belt cover (metal) that covers the belt that drives the alternator and P/S pump
3) the belt cover (metal) that covers the belt that drives the A/C compressor
2 and 3 are usually bolted together. I have only seen N/A Legacies so far. Are teh Turbo's different from this? I would have thought that most of the differences would be toward the rear of the engine area, where teh intercooler is. . .

What intercooler? The front covers are the same. I don't see why you couldn't use newer ones if needed, too. I leave mine off, but I don't have long hair and the only hot chick I know who'd care to look at the engine has short enough hair to not get caught.
As a side note, I knew a guy who did get his hair caught in the belt of his Olds and it ripped it right out of his scalp. Disgusting, but at least it didn't pull his head in.
