Will STi injectors work?

Ok, so I am fairly new to the forum. I just purchased a '91 Legacy Turbo sedan. I have been considering a few different paths for mods already, as I have done with every Subaru I have owned. I was considering injectors when the other day I thought about the USDM STi yellow top injectors. I have an '05 Legacy GT right now which has those injectors stock, and I am in the process of doing a large build on it so the stockers will be coming out. So would they work in the Legacy turbo or would I need to get a different type of fuel rail from another Suby? From what I have seen of possible upgraded injectors that could possibly work, it would seem the STi injectors would work perfect. What do you guys think?

They should fit with the 92-94 N/A rails. I have fit some nissmo 440cc injectors in those rails and they claim fitment on STi's.

most side feed high flow subuaru injectors and nismo injectors will fit on 92-94 NA rails which subsequently fit on the turbo as well

Awesome. So looks like I need to find some N/A rails for sale. I take it just about any N/A Subaru fuel rails for those years will work? Thanks for the replys.

You need 1992-1994 legacy n/a fuel rails. They must be between those years, and they must be from a legacy. MT/AT doesn't matter.

It's possible the 93-94 impreza might have the same injectors, but I have absolutely no way to confirm that.

Josh - The EJ18 rails fit the usdm STi injectors, and I'm PRETTY sure that they fit on the EJ22T.

Go to a pic-n-pull first. Rails are wicked cheap. You could probably get both rails for under 20 bucks no problem.

the part numbers on the imprezza rails are off by one number. but from the looks of it they are the same.

i have 2 sets of rails, one from an imprezza and one from a leg na. ill be selling one shortly but they wont have the thing that holds the injector down. one of the sets is missing this part. im sure youll be able to get them at the delear for cheap

Incase you didn't know, and I just found out not too long ago :). Sometime in the last 6 years FHI raised the fuel pressure from 36.3psi to 43.5psi. So if the injectors you are about to install are 440cc/min then that would actually be a downgrade of 3cc/min using the stock pressure. If they are 480cc/min then you're looking at 30cc/min more at the stock pressure.

wait what????

if the pressure is increaced than wouldnt it be even more fuel???

Yes. Reread what I posted. I think you may be confused.

oh, you mean if you put big injectors in the stock rails right???

the fpr's that are on the na rails are vac fed so they should be usable.

I think you may still be confused. All our Legacys have 36.3psi as the fuel pressure. Newer Subarus have 43.5psi as the fuel pressure.

yeah, so how is the 440cc injectors a downgrade.

I think he is saying that they are rated at 440 at 43 psi.

Just upgrade to a walbro fuel pump. I have and am running 40plus off boost and 3.5 bar on boost.

Right, 440cc/min at 43.5psi, which is 367cc/min at 36.3psi. Conversly, putting a 43.5psi FPR onto a Legacy would yeild 443cc/min

cool. good thing im gonn use the na fpr's.

You still aren't understanding what I'm saying. The Legacy FPR is 36.3psi, turbo or NA. Changing to one isn't going to do anyhting unless your stock one is knackered.
