Well we did it! finished one of the hardest rallies I've ever done .
The good old Legacy never missed a beat or broke anything and went on to finish 12th O/A and 2nd I/C CRS GT and 3rd I/C Western.
To say we were pleased is an under statement.
Hey Jason nice meeting you, shame it was brief and I didn't have any Boddington's left. Well done on your result.
Hi to the Legacy owner I saw at the start of powerline.Nice car.
As to the service crew, sorry we missed you
Report to follow.

Cool Photo's thanks.sorry we didn't get time to chat.
Here the report
I still can't believe we made to the finish!
The good old Legacy was treated to another big check over after Seed 9 and I finished one week before Rim, a record!
Anyway got up for the recce at 7:30 Thursday. The recce was interesting using hand radio's and a convoy of about 40 cars.I did laugh so much about what the locals thought when trying to make a turn across the road and had to wait for all the cars to pass.Maybe they thought there was a party on or a yard sale somewhere.
Friday we thought would drag by as the car was ready,Yeah right! Chad davies's new car had a few little problem's and it was all last minute stuff.I went out for spares/fuses to help, but then missed the fire extinguisher guy and had to call him to come back.
Mean while we when to sign on and then I found out I did not have the Reg papers for the car.I called home and my wife was just about to leave for Rim.She looked and found the paper and my daughter scaned and emailed it.Job done.
Chad decided to retire as the car would not rev over 4500.Everyone had tried to get it going but failed. Then this young stepped forward and conect thses wires together and the ECU runs in test mode.Bingo! the car was running and finished!
The first super special went Ok (an oval it should have) and at Del Sur (Night time, tight and twisty, some smooth and rough sections) there seemed to be a delay,so Martin hopped out and got our time. This left us leaving on our minute so we got flusted and the notes were out.I did the whole stage blind! At the turned around I found out quite a few had the same problem.
Coming back was much better with some heavy landings and a few near off's
I was looking forward to Saturday.Powerline (Mixed soft sand and rough sections),very tight and twisty)I was a great (a little rough) roller coaster ride and I did manage 3rd gear a few times.I think the funniest bit was the finish as we came round the corner at full blast to see the finish and drove up the hill. The guys at the finsh did laugh.
Powerline II was much the same 30mph up hill and flat out in 2nd down hill. The finish guys told we had a flat on the front,we did?
Anyway changed that and met a nice English chap from the Red Impreza that nose dived on the jump.
Back to service and changed the tyres for some worn out Silverstones ready for the tarmac.
The super special(Man made side by side track with a bridge cross over) looked interesting and was! I had zero grip and found out when heading straight for the earth mover! infact I could hardly keep the car on the track.Fun Fun Fun.
Ah the Magic Mountain tarmac stages..I took it steady as I did not know how the Silverstones would perform. They seemed to grip so I upped the speed.Martin was on the notes calling just right. It was a tyre squealing brake smoking blast.
Are we there yet was the call on messenger flats(part tarmac, part rough gravel). Now that was rough and I could once again use 1st and 2nd and kept looking for the car behind to catch me.I was surprised with a good time.At the turn around it was a mess with broken cars and crews trying to fix them.
Going back was better to my suprise and I did a bit of showing off at the Ranger Station and managed to spin 360 right in front of everybody.Dumb Dumb
Magic mountain back was the beast tamac stage I've done ever. The car handled so well sliding a round the corner like a Pro.The brake were nearly cooked, then the stage finish appeared and we stopped in a cloud of smoke.
We slowly drove back to serviceas the brake came back.
Service we swapped the tyres for the Kumho's and checked for damage.
Super special was great as we had grip! Both (night time)Del Sur's were great as Martin was on the money with the notes.A few heavy landing and a tricky ending in all the dust hanging in the air,but we did it! Checking the results revealed 12th O/A and 2nd CRS GT.
So there we have it,I drove 98% of the rally in 1st and 2nd and managed 3rd a few times.Speed wise uphill was 30mph and on the flat and downhill never got more than 70mph.
The car is Ok and ready to go to work in!
Big thanks go to Ray,Donna,Paula,Mike,Olga (who seemed to be everywhere) and the rest of the workers who were so polite and happy to be there.
Thanks for putting on an event that was interesting to none rally people.EG my daughter who's birthday it was my wife and other friends who had a great time.Infact the best rally they had been to.
Even my daughter took the service crew badge to school(future Co-driver??)
To Chad for sticking with it and never giving up.
Sorries to Leon,Lisa,Bristol,Rob and Matt,Paul Ekland and the rest of the guys that had problems.
Each rally is better than the last and there are so many great people rallying here.Rem, Pamela,Jeff (black yellow truck) to name a few.
I loved it and will be back.
Subaru Legacy 2.2L N/A 250,000 mile engine,100,000 mile box and steet 04 STI suspension and no spaes ....ready to rock again!!!!!
Cheers

Huge congrats to Chris on a great run at Rim!!! Stellar on every level.
The car looks great, especially catching big air! The Super Special pics are excellent. Been searching for a week for some like that.
Jamal,
Is it possible to use your pics on my site if I give you photo credit?
Chris is the first one to be a part of the All Wheels Driven contingency program, and he's earned some good press. You can check out the page at
www.allwheelsdriven.net . Go to Rally Info if you want to see some of the rally pics..Think yours would fit in there nicely.
I miss my old car..sniffle, sniffle. But "The Beast" has gone to a good home, and being treated properly...LOL

Thanks Barrett!
Bit of a contrast this: the weekend before the car was competing in one of the US's roughest rallies, last weekend the car was taking bottles to the local bottle bank, yes some were Champagne bottles! I can't believe the punishment this car takes and I still can drive it to work!
I've been looking for photo's too and emailing people to send them.nought good yet though.
Thanks for the go faster Allwheelsdriven stickers.
Cheers
