92 turbo block... 20psi?

hey i have a block that im doing a project on. it has 280000km i dunno ow many miles bur anywayz i was talking to the local subaru guru in my city and he said it should hold up fine without a rebuild. i was just wondering what your opionin on it was?

But for how long?
Rebuild it. You don't have to yank the crank though, but the heads rebuilt, pistons and rings should be replaced, as well as all the gaskets.

The 2.2T block itself can handle up to 30psi in stock form no problem (Ron @ Axis Power Racing confirmed this). But the high milage can definitely weaken parts therefore making it less reliable. If you want it to last then rebuild it, but if you are one for pushing the limits then go for it.

it wont be running 20 psi all the time i just wanted to noe if it could take the hit if i needed it too

Look at the measurement unit peoples. . . 280,000kms is like 160000 miles (or thereabouts) That engine is just past getting broken in. I say the bottom end should last a good ling time, and the top end should still be in good shape (provided it was maintained properly). Toss a can of SeaFoam in there and you should be fine. . .
