Just out of stark curiosity, does anyone have any stories to tell of a Legacy Standard? I read a few things about them in my brochure, and although they certainly didn't look fancy or offer any great options, they came with the same engine and suspension, and the 90 sedan only weighed 2600 lbs! I thought this could be a good project, if I could find one...

trust me....that 2600 has got to be for a base model FWD 5spd and curb weight.

My FWD auto actually weighs just around 3000....give or take a couple hundred depending on gas.

Right...the Standard is the base model. For `90 there was the LS, L and Standard. The Standard didn't come with pdl, pw, ABS, wheel covers, or 4WD. Base weight is 2620 curb for 5spd, 100 more for auto. Something that light would be a great racer, since it has same engine and suspension. I just can't find one to save my ass...

i yet to only see one of the standards. some guy has a 90 down the block from me. no a/c-no cruise control-no power mirrors-no tape deck. very wierd seeing crank windows on our door panels. its white with the black molding going above our reg moldings. he has no center tail light garnish. just two tail lights and a emb that says legacy.

yeah.....the standard ones are ugly as sin......and I don't think the bumpers were painted either.......I've seen one or two around.....they're just hideous....haha

yup-- the bumpers are not painted- they are flat gray

I know that they don't win any style or luxury awards, but I'd like to pick one up for about $400 for a beater or something. But here in FL, it's hard to even find an L, LS, or Turbo, so Standards are rare as rattlesnake feathers ...
