What would YOU pay?

My tires are shot on my touring wagon, and the wheels need refinished badly as well, so I am considering buying some "not brand new, but really really damn close " 05 wrx wheels with tires in the same new condition....

What is a reasonable rate to pay for them?
$400-$450? dropped off at my door?
Is that too pricey?

I could hold out and try to find some that don't need shipped so far, but I don't know how much longer the current rubber on my wagon will wait.

Depends on how common they are in your area. I'd pay it if I wanted WRX wheels since people around here don't upgrade their cars much - they either leave them alone or buy more expensive cars. Neither do they crash that often so you don't even find them in JYs, making cost necessarily higher. Southern California would have a large number of them and where Phil is in Maryland judging by his stories of tuner cars so in those areas that may be too high.

I paid $500 for my flat-blade Forresters without tires.

I paid $250 for my '02 WRX wheels and RE92's with 8K miles left. However '05 WRX wheels are not as common as the older style and considering basicaly new tires ANd shipping I think $400-$450 sounds reasonable. However if the RE92's still come on the wheels from the factory you'll prob find yourself wanting some new tires pretty soon.

i paid 200-250 shipped for my first set of 02' with almost new tires about a year ago and then got a great deal on a pair of 03' with basically new blizzacks for about 180 so i guess it depends on how long you want to wait for the best deal.... But i would pay that 450 for 05's with good tires.

I paid 200 for my 02 WRX wheels. I think 400 is too pricey....but that's just me.

I wouldn't pay more than $200-$250 for common subaru wheels with re92's, depending on condition and style.

I like the look of the '05s WAY better than the '02-'04s.......

I kinda wish my friend had sold me his when he bought a WRX (used to have an SR20DET 240SX).

yeah the 05's look better than the 02-04 but I still wouldn't pay a lot for them. I got 00 rs wheels/tires in 04 for 275 shipped i believe. Maybe it was 275+shipping.

I paid $200 for mint 02 WRX wheels with almost zero miles on the tires (they were on for the drive from the dealership to his house, where they were swapped for his 18's).

Me too. I had to drive an hour and a half to get them though.

I'd pay no more than 200 for anything below the 05's, but I understand supply and demand, and the 05's do look way better

well 4 new GOOD tires could cost around 400 dollars and new aftermarket wheels could cost as little as 500.

so 400 shipped wouldnt be too much i would think for new 05 wrx wheels.

but there's a difference between 4 new GOOD tires and 4 new re92s

Indeed, for most people, they'll be SPENDING MORE MONEY just to get the RE92s off the rims in question, anyway. IMO, this further devalues stock WRX rims.

if you are going from A to B and not pushing the car a set of re92 arent THAT bad.

Right, they're actually alright tires. But they sure don't add any value to the wheels.

the re92's are excellent stock tires. They dont cost the company much, and do okay in all conditions, just not good at anything.

Well, I ended up paying more than any of you said you'd be willing to pay.
In this area, pre-05 WRX wheels go for around 300. There really aren't tons of subarus over here.

I paid 470 shipped from California. It's Still only 70 bucks more than the rubber alone, not to mention mounting or balancing (or tax).

So I choose to look at it like I bought 4 new tires at full price, and got the 4 new 2005 WRX wheels for 70 bucks.

Now I just want to destroy FedEx. Those jerkeys somehow sent 3 to me and the fourth is still on the west coast. they sent it from Sacramento, to Santa Rosa, then back to Sacramento. Now it's in Portland... Lots of good 3 wheels do me here.

GRRRR!!!
It's My B-day too. I was really hoping to get all 4 here and put them on for my B-day present to myself.

That sucks dude. You should get some FedEx credit or whatever for your trouble.

Are the stock tires on the '05 WRX still RE-92s? I thought the stock tires were 730s or S03s, or something...?
