Did a search first, no luck.

Do any of you have any pics of the V2-V3 tmic installed on a 2.2 Turbo? Getting ready to put one on, and wanted to see what was out there..

Also, does anyone have the IC piping (new or used) for that unit? It's just got 1 inlet (almost trapezoidal shaped w/ 3 bolts) and one 3" outlet to TB. Been having a hard time finding it. Getting a part made to plumb the inlet into, but would like to have a stock part for back up.

Thanks in advance for your help.
:D

Take a look on my engine, I am using the V2 intercooler for my EJ22t before. Easy install, just take off the pipe from turbo to engine. and just put the intercooler and reconnect the piping.
You could check the GC8 imperza from japanese site that use the same intercooler.
Here is my car with the V2 intercooler:

Thanks for the pics..

Is that IC hose the stock unit, or something that you made/ sourced? Looks like it's not too hard at all to put on, just need the IC hose..

Very nice Leggy BTW, it's the same color as my wagon..:D

You could get the hose from Samco as order as same to the V2 intercooler setting.
I don't have any pics that before install, sorry, I may have to clean up the engine bay, I may take some pics when I take off the intercooler.
I will let you know or post up here sooner later.

Yep, thats the one I am using, and it fits very well in our engine bay.

That's the one..

Now if I could find the piping I'd have an intercooled car.

For reference, here is my friends Impreza with a V2 STi RA drivetrain.

I have another friend with a legacy EJ22T in his '96 L running this same I/C

Since it isn't really tall, it should fit perfectly and not have clearance issues. You may want to look into the JDM coolant tank to replace the stock one. I do recall one other modification needed by my friend for it to fit the EJ22T out of the Legacy, but it's escaping my mind for the moment.

thanks for the pics. that is definately the way i am going. i am going to put a USDM coolant tank into the JDM/WRX location on the passenger side. that is going to be done first.

do the stock V2 IC plumbing from the turbo to the IC work on the USDM ej22t turbo?

nope, the turbo outlet on the usdm turbo is clocked differently and the outlets are different sizes. if you had a JDM turbo it theoretically would work.

so I would need to hack up the stock IC piping and come up w/a custom pipe from the turbo and then somehow mate the two together?

i would need to use the stock V2 IC pipe to get the odd shape of the stock inlet opening correct. then cut it up to mat to the custom pipe from the turbo.

i have good friend that runs a "speed shop" here in town to help put all this together.

Greg, if you're "fabbing" up a pipe from the IC to the stock turbo, make two of them, I'll gladly pay you for the services

My mickeymoused setup from the original turbo to IC pipiing has a rad hose spanning a gap in which I cut the original piping off just before the BPV connector. It's slightly kinked and was looking for something better.

a completely fabbed up pipe like the one in the photo above is what I need.

Yes, it's the same IC.

i will have to get ahold of a the IC and piping and see what we can come up w/. more than likely we would weld up some steel tubing to go in place of where you put the rad hose.

i will definatley keep the board up on what is going on.

however, dont hold you breath. getting a wrx coolant tank in place on the pass. side of the engine bay is priority #1.
