There was a poll on this not too long ago.

I have been getting around 25-26mpg on average lately, it is WAY up for some reason.

So far mine doesn't get that good of milage in town, and roughly 24mpg on the highway. I think the average I have been getting from city driving is around 17mpg, but it should go up after I finish giving my car a tune-up...

there's not much to explain... pick where your mileage falls, then pick modified or stock.

I get 24mpg in town and around 29mpg on a long run. Maybe the fact that it's manual not auto makes a difference...

Manual or Auto is also going to make a difference. Around town my mileage is horrible, but on the highway (even at 85 - 90) it gets MUCH better.

I used to get about 17 mpg on average. one time RT.2 was infested with cops and I drove the whole way to and from work at like 65  . I got around 20-22 mpg on that tank. normally I drive 75ish and can't help but have a little fun on the backroads in my town. an EJ22t at WOT swallows gas like a 4bbl carb.

95 legacy wag, 5 sp, 139 k miles 28 on a loooong trip, 24-25 driving gently, and last year when i had a wrx 5 speed, stock, it got: 12 mpg on the track, at limerock-scca high performance driving school; 17 when i drove it like i wanted to go to jail, 21 driven nicely, and 30 mpg on a looong trip, cruise control on, no a/c

91 turbo 5spd sedan with 160,000 miles, I get close to 19 in the city with regular california driving, but on the highway I'll get about 27. I have oversized tires on my car right now, so I'm not sure what I'm getting now. With the wrx rims and tires I'll get about 100 less miles on a tank according to my odometer.

about 20mpg on highway, but I used 1/4 of gas at the last autocross when the boost was turned up

I have a 94 Turbo with a manual and get about 19-20 in the city and 24-25 on the highway (80-90 on average). I once was held to 65 or so for most of a tank and got 28.5. A/C also makes a difference of a couple mpg or so, as I've found. The EPA rating is 19 city and 25 highway...Love the car, but my *one* complaint...

Not bad for 215k

I'm getting 23 around town, 33 or so on the freeway depending on winds. Not having a luggage rack helps.

This is my first Subaru, my first AWD, and after 2k miles, well.. I'm having a hard tme not filling the thread with praises. This one *sweet* little car. And the more I learn about the car.. the more impressed I am.

I can't wait for the first snow...

Well, I didn't do my homework on this subject before buying the legacy.

My first tank I got 16MPG first half was city driving, 2nd half highway miles at around 75MPH (this converting from metric to standard is wierd)

anyway 350 Kilometers on 48 liters of 91 octane is quite harsh when you push the loud pedal.

Anyone have any ideas on a way to freshen up my mileage? I'm not used to buying 91 octane first off. and 2ndly putting 48litres per fillup isn't cheap.

lose some wieght, you and the car :D, make sure all your filters are either new or near new, check your sensors, plugs, wires, stuff like that.

Heheheh. smartass. ;)

Good advice, I'll get the fuel filter changed next oil change, and 4 wire O2 Sensor when I get the exhaust done in the spring.

Plugs and wires are all good.

Lose weight out of the car eh?
Not going to happen. the aftermarket stereo goes in and the box alone is 50+ lbs..

Have you done any mods to your car??? That seems like a low milage per gallon. It could be your math in converting to our system, cause I get around 19 in the city (with frequent "loud pedal taps") and 27 on the highway. Even with my car fully loaded with boxes of books, luggage and what not from school it got 27 mpg.
