an engineer at work has a hooptie el camino with a crate chevy 350 motor. He claims he has the original manufacures specs showing the head work and such specking it out at close to 400 horses. I'm not sure what his gearing is but he has an auto with possi rear end. so the other day I was asking him if he wanted to line up on the long ass strip that is the access road to all the factories down by where I work. so he actually asked me how much I wanted to race for but I insisted on racing for bragging rights as I figured I'd lose. so due to some traffic we didn't actually get to start from a stop it was more like a roll from 30mph or so. so we both floor it and to my surprise he does not pull away. I was slightly gaining on him the whole time. we got up to around 90-100mph and we ran out of road so we stopped. I never got a whole car lenth in front of him but I was clearly moving faster but just bearly. so does this mean I am pushing 400 horses? lol Let me just add that this guy is always busting my balls about not driving an american car so it felt good to beat him in my rust bucket
