I just replaced the Spec Stage II Kevlar clutch in my SS yesterday and I found some truly alarming results. The clutch had <10,000 miles on it, and one side was completely devoid of its friction material and worn down to the rivets!!! I do not drive my car too hard, but I do launch it from time to time and I surmise that in the process of slipping the clutch it got too hot. Moreover, from what I gather as of late, Kevlar doesn't like heat very much, so my question is why they market the material as high performance for an All Wheel car?!?!

Anyway, I replaced it with a 6 puck ceramic!

So far I am impressed!

Because kevlar gets stickier as it gets hot.

+1 for drag passes. -1 for durability.

seems more like -20 for durability... kinda like a radial valve job. Single-race engines only

I recently replaced the SPEC Stage II Kevlar clutch in my 2.5RS with an Exedy organic. The thing was wearing like iron, but would overheat WAY too easily and once it overheats it is useless until it cools down (about 30min - 1hr and it's like new again). Having a co-driver at autocrosses pretty much assured clutch slippage by the end of the event (which was not an issue with the stock clutch). So I, too, agree to avoid Kevlar clutches, but for completely different reasons...
