Is this a factory color for the ss? BAcC 2.5 is the only other person I have ever seen with this color paint...would be awesome if we were the only two...anyone else have one this color?

I've seen a TW and almost bought a sedan in that color. They are pretty rare, but not as rare as SOA would have you believe.

You scared the shit out of me with that nonsense too. I'll never forget that.

Snowboarded has this color also.

It's the rarest of Legacy colors, for sure, as it was a pay option, and only on special edition vehicles (Touring Wagon, Sport Sedan, Alpine Sport Wagon, etc). It was also only available in 1994, and was the most expensive of the paint options.

I'd rekon to think that there are only a few hundred total cars painted this color, at the most.

That, and Rio Red. They didn't do many in Rio Red.

AB is a pretty sweet color.

But wasn't Rio Red available on the non-turbo's?

Rio red was availabe on all 90-91 Legacys. Not very rare.

you can write to them, but they have no idea. I have contacted SOA, and all they have is transmission numbers.

A quick search yielded me this...

There is a good chance, that any car I decide to get repainted, will be ABM.

It is, undoubtedly, the greatest color ever placed on a car. ABM, and Type R Pearl White. But I would never paint a subaru Type R White.

What about the Pearl White that came on SS's? My '91 is Pearl White, and I think it would look awesome, if not for the rust and dents.

Type-R white is different. I believe it's called "Championship White"

The SS white isn't even CLOSE to the white of the ITR.

Championship White is really up there for the sexiest color ever to see production. ABM is up there, but it doesn't fit all cars. I'd sport ABM on a new Legacy, but it would have to have more blue and less green for an Impreza.

About 3 weeks ago I saw an AB '94 SS for the first time. I've got to admit that seeing it in person, it looks better than the pictures I've seen.

Also, about Rio Red, I know it was available on 90-91's (My SS is rio), but was it available on 92-94's? I keep seeing this Rio Red '94 SS around and although I like it, it kinda bugs me not knowing if it was the original color. I keep seeing it within a 50 mile radius, and it now has a primered left rear quarter panel and bust ass taillight. :???:

Someone is selling a 94SS that was repainted red. I think he lives in PA also, and was intending to do some body work and stuff to it. Maybe it's him?

To answer your question though, no, Rio Red was not a post-facelift option. Not that I have ever seen anyways...

I'm pretty sure mine is one of the coveted Aegian Blue turbo wagons:
I suppose that makes sense because the last 'factory sleeper' grocery getter I had was a rare colour too. 96 Lumina 3.4DOHC in Purple Pearl Metallic.
