Oil pressure sensor install

Just a quick one, my oil light *sometimes* flickers on on idle and sometimes doesn't. Oil pump was replaced, and I am starting to suspect a bad sensor.
Could any one tell me of a nice and easy place to hook up a mechanical oil pressure sensor??
I quickly checked around but my lack of knowledge on these boxer engines has got me stumped!
Thanks in advance!

The stock pressure sender (right behind the alternator) is threaded into a plug with 1/8" BSPT threads. Perhaps you could remove that sender and thread in your own pressure sensor (maybe with a BSPT-to-NPT adapter) if you just want to temporarily measure pressure.

I also have a problem with a leaky sensor. I'll be replacing it Monday.

1/8" BSPT? BullShit Pipe Threads?? Hehe, I've heard of straight pipe threads with O-rings, NPT threads, but BSPT I have no clue what you are referring to!!
Anyhow, I will definately try to find the right fitting for the job and hook up a mechanical gauge. As a safety. If I remove the stock sensor and splice both wires into each other will the light just shut?
Thanks!

British Standard Pipe Taper. The tapered pipe threads that pretty much the whole world except for North America uses. Sometimes compatible with NPT, but not in the 1/8" size.
The stock sender has only one wire (it grounds through its body). I believe if you just remove it and tape the wire up the light will never turn on.

Great, thanks for the input!
I'll be plugging one in tomorrow or saturday. I'll keep you guys posted with the readings I get.
Hope to get some good news and not a low reading ...
