Just thought I'd share my good news

I found out that I made rank today. For all that don't know, I'm in the Air Force. I will be leaving for Iraq next month so at least I got some good news before I leave my family behind.
Of course the smile is for being promoted. lol

He's in the Air Force - it's all strippers and alcohol in air conditioned barracks for them!
My uncle was in the Air Force in Vietnam and he said it was a blast (he ran the officer's club).
Seriously, though, congrats and I hope you get through an adventure unharmed.
Don't forget to wear a rubber, dude!

Congrats man, I got the same news a few hours ago. I don't have to go to the sandbox though. What plans do you have for all of that separation/hazardous theater pay

Operose, I'm happy about the promotion, not the deployment. G-reg, to be honest, alot of that money is going to my car. It will get a paint job, window tint, and a four-channel amp. I really want to do an ej20 swap but getting all the stuff I need is being a pain.

I just made Tech. How's Korea? I was never stationed there but I was deployed there in Kwang ju back in 98. I see you're at Osan (I visited there and Kunsan), do you know any Weapons guys? I know two people that are in the A-10 squadron. Good luck on your SSgt test.

So, how is the UAV business? It's looking like my unit is going to get bent over by BRAC. We are definitely losing our F-16A's(yes A's) and maybe being rolled in with Grand Forks AFB who is losing their KC's for Global Hawks and Predators. So if I stay with the unit I'll be maintaining or flying (kind of) Predators. Or I can jump ship and still try and get a single seat fighter slot
