So my car goes to the body shop next week for a whole lot of new metal, and It's getting a new coat of paint. My plans are to paint the mirriors, door handles the same shade as the car, but here is where I'm torn. I really like the silver strip on the VW jetta's like this

and Nobdy here keeps their silver, what do you guys think, keep the silver and paint the black red or just pain the whole thing red.
Thanks
Frazer

Depends on what year it is. If it's your 91 in your sig then I'd keep the chrome. I aquired my 91 and am having it repainted and preped to perfection, but am having the same delema. I hate chrome, but something about it on the red 91 SS looks cool. I'd keep it if I were you.
EDIT - Don't paint the black trim red. I think that will really look like ass. Not because of the obvious though. The black trim is raised and has contours in it. Painting over that and not having it smoothed so that it flows with the door would look like arse.

I was just gonna black mine out.
Also, I was planning on painting the handles black.

We've had discussions about this before, and I'd do something about it, but I can't seem to get those pieces off, let alone put them back on right! There has to be a trick, or something.

I'm planning on making mine all chrome, mostly because one side is completely peeled, and because my car, being ice blue and all, needs to have a lil' bling blang, ya knaa'mean?

I say keep the silver and repaint the black molding. Keep it stock but looking new and clean.

i think they're talking about door trim, not window trim.
