Lowering on GR-2s

I want to reduce body roll in my Legacy but can't afford AGXs right now. I was looking at a set of H&R springs to use with my GR-2s. As I understand it the AGXs were designed to work with up to a 1.5" drop. Being that the GR-2s are basically an OEM replacement, would running an 1" drop be bad for the struts? I assume it would reduce the life of them but would be it dangerous? Is anyone running GR-2s with lowering springs? Would the car be lowered more since I'm using softer struts? Would the combo be a bad choice? Thanks.

Actually, you can run with a lower drop on the GR2's then you can with the AGX's. I still wouldn't advise against anything over 1.5"
What spring rates are the H&R's?
I ran with my whitelines & GR2's for a while. They worked well. Keep in mind I had 90-91 GR2's, which have less front damping then the 92-94's. The 92-94's are better suited for slightly stiffer spring rates then the 90-91's.

the suspension compendium lists them as front: 196.25-204.1 and rear 86.25-193.7

Yea, GR-2's can handle the drop. And they have a 15% dampening increase from stock, which from what i read is the same as #2 setting on AGX's, which alot of impreza drivers set for the fronts.
I have GR-2's and Eibach pro kit for cost and performance increase, and am very happy with it.

GR-2's have the same damping characteristics that the AGX's do in their middle setting. Or...that's what KYB says.
