We spent hours and hours detailing the outside today. It looks better than it did in the photos

Watch the red half circle surrounding the fuel gauge when you get low....it's pretty cool :)

Tru Dat.

He got sick of all the negative attention it drew, including the ricer kids trying to race him

That's the truth, more than a lot of other reasons.

Here are the major ones:

1. Negative attention from other drivers (been challenged a lot lately)
2. Fuel consumption (I know, not much worse than a SS or TW, but still)
3. Not the best long-distance trip car, nor snowboarding rig
4. I'm 33, my old and aching bones want some comfort.

5. I've been lusting after them for a year now. :)

Cool, how's the comparison between the GT and STI?

I want a GT sooo bad, I'm jealous.

Any mods planned?

The car I'd get exactly or in the lighter blue also. Wagons - the true sport utility vehicle.

6. More room for "fun" in the back of a wagon.

'nuff said. Beautiful car Art.

Mmm, Limited sweetness.
I've only driven the GT sedan 5sp. How does the wagon differ handling-wise?

I've test driven a few, and driven for a day a mildly modded (suspension wise) 05 GT wagon.

Endlinks make the car feel MUCH more sure footed.

*smacks his lips and licks his chops*

I want a GT Sedan in Garnet Red, with the factory spoiler, and my life would be complete.

Good color choice. But don't park anywhare near.......anything. That pretty blue is made pretty by a bright white primer/base coat. And the blue is pretty thin, so any little scratch shows bright white :x
That is the exact car I wanted, but I came up about 10K short. Are you going to get a roof rack to hold all of the fun stuff? I'd be interested to know if there is interference with the sunroof/spoiler like on the Imprezas

I plan to use this car for a lot of stuff. Just over the weekend, Laurel and I used it to haul all of our camping gear for WCSS7. And it hauls people so damn well. . . it's like a limo in the backseat, there's so much legroom!

Yes, roofrack crossbars will be coming this fall, and I'll be putting on the ski/snowboard rack for the winter. (I really need to find a way to afford some clearbra in the very near future)

Handling-wise, it's actually very nice in stock form. I WILL be augmenting the suspension, though. Going from coilovers to this is just too big a step backward for me. Springs and shocks (but probably swaybars first)

Congrats on your new Subaru. Both cars are sexy.

I just test drove the sedan this last weekend. I want the wagon but they only had the outback I in 5MT.

I am so getting that car it isnt even funny. One question I still have though. I know subie is coming out with the 06 next month and I havent seen it yet. does anyone know if anything has changed from 05? Also, I wish to point you to http://cobbtuning.com/legacy/power-s.html#stage2 if you havent considered it yet. they have a video link of it running/revving as well. I think i saw on the site somewhere that it doesnt even void the warranty. the page with the vid is: http://cobbtuning.com/legacy/power-i.html#mufflers and it is of just the exhaust package. The exhaust is half of that stage 2 in the first link though. I am guessing expensive, but performance like that with a deeper exhaust note while maintaining warranty status is a huge temptation.

and may I add, during the test drive of the sedan, the salesman and I drove underneath the tip of a tornado. First I have ever seen a twister and can honestly say I am a moron for driving underneath it, but I had faith that 250hp GT woulda got me outa there if need be :)

Seriously though, we looked up through the sunroof and stared straight up through the middle of it...It was only half way between the clouds and the ground...it never touched down we found out later on the news. After that bonding experience, I cant imagine buying that buying the car from anyone else. I just wish I was in my car so I coulda had the camera ready.

there will be no 5MT GT wagon in 06.

there will still be a 5MT OBXT, though.

apparently the only 3% of the LGT wagons sold last year were 5MT.

The dealer near me won't even carry the new GT wagons, only sedans. They'll carry the Outback versions in a wagon though. They said the GT wagons weren't selling. :(
