Man, weight reduction ain't easy.
Here's some measurements I did tonight:
All from a turbo sedan
Rear seat bottom bench: 10 lbs
Rear seat back with trunk pass throughs: 36 lbs
Total for rear seats: 46 lbs
Plastic Multitool box from trunk (empty): 7 lbs
I will keep adding data.
Here's some data from a super old post by "arktechca" (also for a turbo sedan)
Sunroof Assembly: 42 lbs
Front Bumper (steel only): 30 lbs
Rear Bumper (steel only): 36 lbs
All of the plastic coating on floor metal throughout the car (beneath
the carpet, had to be scraped): 20 lbs
Anyone remember any old threads about this that I'm just totally missing?

Please make it clear that this is for a sedan, as I'm sure the sound deadening material is more in a wagon, and the back seat weight is slightly different

Wagons dont matter. The only people who drive those are lesbians, and soccer moms.

I have my stock front seats out, so I can weigh those if you want.

Done.

That'd be cool if it's not too much trouble. Even weighing the driver's seat would be useful because people might want to know what they would save by going to a race bucket.

I have my stock seats, my RS seats, a Version 4 JDM STi drivers seat, and a Fiberglass Momo Rookie one-peice race seat. I'd get weights of all of them, but I'm lazy.
The stock SS Seat is HEAVY. The RS seats are lighter. The V4 STi seat is lighter, and the one-peice is the lightest.

Maybe when I swing by your place sometime soon I will bring the postage scale.
Yeah, I looked like a dork walking to work this morning with the massive scale (to return it) and standing in line at the bagel shop with it. Not to mention how bad it must of looked that I was tearing a car apart in the middle of the night, parrallel parked on a busy street in downtown Bmore, with parts littered all over the sidewalk. People actuall walk up and ask me if the car belongs to me. What am I going to say?

i estimate the weight of the front seats to be around 40 pounds each.
that is based on the fact that the appear to weigh about the same as my daughter.

HA! Ive got a buddy with a 91 turbo thats totally gutted, cept the sunroof. We keep meaning to run out and weigh it, but havnt quite made it yet.
I beleive weve discussed this before, and IIRC my boss said there was 400 pounds to be taken out of a legacy, but I just cant see that happening.
so, 227 is what Ive added up with your guys figures so far.
AC-25lbs
fiberglass hood-25lbs
lighter wheels-15lbs
spare tire-20lbs
lexan door windows-15lbs
that brings my estimate to 327lbs. I cant really think of what else to remove at that point.

After that, I think it'd be lighter weight parts, such as aluminum A-arms and lateral links.
You could remove the stock gas tank and go with a racing fuel cell. That'd probably save a couple of pounds.

Roof has to be a least a couple hundred, just chop it.
But seriously, let's keep this one on topic. Sometimes it's good to have a technical thread once in a while.

Also, if you remove the sound deadening material, mineral spirits will easily remove the remaining adhesive residue.
