Suggestions on my planning..

So here's what I want to do, I want to finally get my EJ22T in the engine bay and just bolt my current NA headers up to it (running it as a NA engine for now)

Then get a custom exhaust made because the stock exhaust won't clear the crossmember (and I don't have the tools for fabrication)

So I'm wondering with a custom exhaust manifold if I can clear the entire crossmember - going around it; and still line up with the turbo?

giving enough space for engine rocking and things of that nature.

I havn't really looked at this much as the planning isn't really going to happen immediately - I'm still saving money and paying bills and things of that nature.

Would it be easier to just get the crossmember? how easy does it swap over? If I've got to take out the steering rack and disconnect the suspension to swap it I don't want to bother.

Also, this is how the car currently sounds

I'm wondering if I should stick with that sound if it doesn't sound bad or anything (I don't mind it) or look at a borla or something of that nature.

Your opinions or critisim is always welcome, so long as it's constructive.

You can get a custom header/up pipe to clear the non-turbo crossmember.

If you were to swap crossmembers, you would have to swap over the steering rack.

Allright, thanks. I'm still looking for comments on the sound of the exhaust as it stands.

I wonder if going to a low compression EJ22T how much the note would change?
