I was wondering, do the tlegs come with a blow off valve stock?

Im having a bunch of trouble with the one on my WRX intercooler and had to just fab a plate to put over the hole....i know this can damage the turbo after prolonged use because it can spin it backwards....

So is this ok to leave for a while or do i need to fix this ASAP

Some will tell you yes, but I ran without a bypass for years on my old car and had no problems(at 200K+ and 15psi)

and yes the Turbo Legacys did have a "air bypass valve"

It is a different style than the usdm WRX

how do i loose power, like isnt the blow off vlave just getting rid of excess air so i deont gett too much boost?

the recirc valve(that's stock)puts that air back into your intake system. Your ecu is tuned to run with a recirculationg BOV, thus the loss of power. just go to www.iwsti.com and do a search for "new bov" or something along those lines

Go Fast Bits makes a combination BOV specifically for the WRX. It reciculates enough air for the MAF and ECU to function properly, and then vents the rest to atmosphere. You can buy them most anywhere that stocks WRX speed parts...

The turbo also will spool down quicker and make it have a longer spool up time.

Thats an external wastegate.

whats the diff between the wastegate and the bov. like whats the purpose of the wastegate,

Wastegate is like a bov but for the exhaust side. For example, an external gate is attached to the exahust manifold and will open to release some exhaust before it gets to the turbine in order to maintain boost at a certain level. An internal gate is in the turbine housing(its a little flap) and will open and allow exhaust to bypass the turbine, again to keep the boost at a certain level.
