series1 rear brake upgrade

reading through some post here and there. From what I have read on 1 forum is they use a H6 solid rotors and caliper brackets, leaving the standard caliper. Gives some extra brake torque with the 290mm rotor. It didn't give much detail as to which model cars they were doing it to. I would probably prefer getting some ventilated rear rotors so would need some RS Turbo rear calipers to match I guess.

Is it a simple as that with a gen1 series1 Liberty/Legacy?

I have some 4pots for the front on the way so I would like to do the rears as well.

It is that simple. Assuming you mean RS turbo rear rotors.

the RS rear rotors are 260mm ventilated aren't they?

What I was thinking is getting some 290mm rear H6 (other models use them as well) solid rotors and the caliper brackets. Then use the standard calipers.

I could chase ventilated rear rotors but would need the calipers to match, which would be more expensive but run cooler.

Your old calipers won't work with the newer style H6 brackets. To do the H6 rear brake setup, you will need the H6 caliper brackets, and the H6 caliper, or any newer style caliper, (from probably 2000 and onward)
