Can't find exhast gasket??

Post by All_talk »

I need the "donut" gasket between the up-pipe and the mid-pipe (just before that secon cat), parts stores dont show a listing for the turbo cars, dealer only? Any other app fit?

Car is a '91 SS

Between the downpipe and midpipe.

You might try taking your stock one to an exhaust shop or a good auto parts store. They may be able to go through the donuts they have and find one that's the right size.

The WRX uses the same gasket, just to help you widen your search. Maybe a NASIOC member could give you a used one. As long as they aren't mistreated or super old they can be reused.

Great! Any chance you still have the part number or anything?

Nope, no part number, but its not really a good fit anyway. I just picked one with a profile that was close to the old one (in lot of little pieces) off there old dust peg board. I had a metal ring in the middle and was a little to big, so I cut out the ring and split it. seems to be working for now.

Go to the very bottom of the page where the gaskets are at. Look for
"Gasket: Graphite Donut." It is for a wrx and not for our cars, but I'm betting it is the same piece.

Good luck.

It is indeed the same piece.

Subaruwrxparts.com is a dealer.

Ah, I see. Didn't realize that. Subaruparts.com is also a dealer, aren't they?

Yup. Subaruwrxparts.com is Exeter Subaru and subaruparts.com is Tacoma Nissan-Subaru. And allsubaru.com is Carter Subaru (or is it subarugenuineparts.com now? I forget).

allsubaru is carter.

subarugenuineparts is chaplins

Jamie now works for chaplins, and it's hands down is the cheapest online subaru dealer for OEM parts.
